Starting with CS, IIT Delhi, Bombay, and Kanpur are simply unmatched. However, IIT Kharagpur's CS department is impressive as well, maintaining the standard expected from a NIRF rank 4 institute. The director of IIT Kharagpur is the former HOD of the CS department and continues to support it actively. Students in the CS five-year program seem quite satisfied with their seniors and batchmates.

When it comes to the culture, IIT Kharagpur is renowned for its strong student bonding, often referred to as the senior-junior “tempo” in IIT Kgp lingo. If you choose IIT Kharagpur, expect plenty of assistance from your seniors!
