IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers strong internship opportunities with companies like Amazon and Google, which can lead to lucrative job placements, especially in AI/ML fields. The rigorous curriculum prepares students well for the tech industry, but the competition is fierce. On the flip side, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering also provides substantial career prospects, especially in niche sectors, though the internship opportunities might not be as extensive or high-profile as those at IIT Delhi.

Given the current trends, if you’re leaning towards a tech-centric career, IIT Delhi is likely the better choice for higher packages and broader opportunities, while IIT Kharagpur would be ideal if you are passionate about aerospace and its applications.

It's straightforward! Ask yourself:

  • Do you know anything about aerospace engineering?
  • Are you genuinely interested in this field?
  • Can you see yourself pursuing higher studies in aerospace?
  • Will you be okay with potentially lower starting salaries compared to your peers in the IT sector?

If the answer to even one of these questions is no, then go for BITS Goa SCE by default. Otherwise, choose IIT Kharagpur for Aerospace!

If you have a strong interest in Aerospace Engineering, go for IIT Kharagpur. If not, consider BITS Goa for Computer Science Engineering; it’s an excellent college and a great course combination.

All the best!!!

If you’re not aiming for exams like UPSC, I would suggest you follow your passion!

On the flip side, if you’re considering a career outside of engineering, choosing IIT could give you an edge due to its strong brand value.

Going for B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering at IIT Delhi might seem enticing with its strong curriculum and abundant internship opportunities from big tech firms like Amazon and Google, but the fee is quite high at around 20 lakhs, which can hurt the ROI. On the flip side, B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering at IIT Kharagpur also offers a solid education with good faculty support, and while the fees are similar, the prospects in aerospace might not be as lucrative as in tech. If you’re looking for a more promising financial choice and a higher chance of returning your investment, IIT Delhi’s Computer Science program could be the smarter option, especially if you’re passionate about tech and can make the most of the internships available. However, if you have a strong interest in aerospace and are willing to take a risk for potentially rewarding prospects in a niche field, then IIT Kharagpur could still be a good fit.
