Go for the following priorities:
I would definitely recommend going for IITs! The added opportunities for research and placements are significant. You can even appear for M.Tech and PhD programs without needing to take the GATE or go through placement interviews for many PSUs.
Also, IIT Hyderabad is now on par with the older IITs, so you won’t find much difference. Just make sure to check if hostel accommodations are available for students at the IIT Hyderabad campus.
Most importantly, follow your interests and passions when making your choice, and select the colleges accordingly. Good luck!
To be honest, if placement is a major concern, you’re better off choosing DTU Computer Science over any core branch. Opportunities in core branches are quite limited.
IIT Delhi Civil Engineering:
IIT Kharagpur Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering:
IIT Kanpur Mechanical:
I don’t have much knowledge about the computational branch at IIT Hyderabad, and I doubt if one exists.
I think both IIT Delhi for B.Tech Civil Engineering and IIT Kharagpur for B.Tech Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering offer unique experiences. IIT Delhi has a highly qualified faculty with a focus on self-learning, which can be great for those who thrive in a more independent environment. The campus life seems vibrant with annual fests and excellent sports facilities. On the other hand, IIT Kharagpur, while not detailed in the reviews, is known for its strong placement records, especially in tech and consulting. If you're more inclined towards civil engineering and enjoy a dynamic campus life, IIT Delhi might be the better choice. However, if you're looking for robust placements and a solid technical foundation, IIT Kharagpur could be the way to go. Personally, I would pick IIT Delhi for the overall student experience and campus culture.
I think if your primary focus is on placements and career outcomes, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering might give you an edge. The tech and consultancy sectors dominate the placement scene there, with companies like Google and Amazon making offers that can go as high as 2.65 crores, and a strong percentage of students getting placed. On the other hand, while IIT Delhi's Civil Engineering program also offers good internships and a decent placement rate, the opportunities in civil are generally more limited compared to electronics. So, if you're inclined towards tech and want better job prospects, go for IIT Kharagpur; if you have a passion for civil engineering and are okay with potentially fewer job options, IIT Delhi could still be fulfilling.
