The answer to this question depends a lot on your interests, location preferences, and career goals.

  • Placement-wise: IIT KGP EE is a better choice, hands down. There are numerous core jobs available, along with opportunities in CS, consulting, and finance. The potential for growth is tremendous if you choose this path.
  • Hard work is essential: Remember, there's no such thing as a free lunch. You need to put in the effort to seize these opportunities. If you're not willing to study hard after getting into IIT, these chances won’t mean much.
  • Passion for Chemical Engineering: If you're genuinely passionate about chemical engineering, IIT Delhi's Chemical program makes more sense. The placements are definitely good—actually, really great for chemical students—but again, hard work is non-negotiable here too.
  • Future plans: If you're considering entrepreneurship, UPSC CSE, CAT, etc., IIT Delhi is the way to go!

I hope this answers your question. All the best! :)

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Chemical Engineering offers a solid placement record with 85% of students getting placed in top companies like Amazon and Google, but the tuition fees can be quite high depending on family income. On the other hand, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering is known for its strong ROI due to high demand in tech sectors and potentially lower fees. While both schools provide excellent education, if you’re looking for a smart financial choice with better ROI and scholarship opportunities, IIT Kharagpur might be the better pick, especially if you’re leaning towards a career in electronics or communications.

Conversely, if you’re passionate about chemical engineering and can manage the fees, IIT Delhi offers great placements and campus life.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Chemical Engineering has a solid placement record with 85% of students securing jobs in top sectors like IT, finance, and core engineering, attracting major companies like Google and Amazon. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering, while also reputable, has a slightly less aggressive placement strategy, often focusing more on core electronics roles. The diverse opportunities at IIT Delhi, combined with its strong industry connections, make it a better choice for students looking for broader job prospects and higher packages.
