NIT Trichy for B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers robust placement opportunities with many tech giants visiting the campus, and the internship options are quite good due to the college’s strong industry connections. In contrast, Jadavpur University’s BE in Electronics & Telecom Engineering also provides decent placements, but there might be fewer interactions with top-tier companies compared to NIT Trichy. The scholarships at NIT Trichy are a big plus, especially for economically weaker students, which can ease financial burdens and allow more focus on internships. If you're aiming for better job prospects and a more active campus recruitment scene, NIT Trichy is the way to go; however, if you prefer a more relaxed campus life and cultural exposure, Jadavpur University might suit you better.

ECE is an excellent stream that combines coding with electronic components. This opens doors for placements in top IT companies as well as semiconductor firms. So, definitely consider NIT Trichy!

  • NIT Trichy has great facilities.
  • The peer group is impressive.
  • Overall, it might be slightly better than NIT Calicut.

Go for it!

NIT Trichy for B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers a solid ROI with reasonable fees of around 60,000 per semester and good placement opportunities, especially with tech giants, making it a financially wise choice. In contrast, Jadavpur University’s BE in Electronics & Telecom Engineering also provides a good curriculum but lacks specific details on fees and placements, which makes it harder to gauge its financial advantage. While both have scholarship options, NIT Trichy seems to have a more robust support system for economically disadvantaged students. If you’re looking for stronger placement prospects and overall value for money, NIT Trichy is likely the smarter financial choice, but if you have a strong preference for Jadavpur University’s culture or specific faculty, it could still be a good fit.

NIT Trichy for Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers a strong curriculum with real-world applications and excellent placement opportunities, thanks to regular internships and visits from top tech companies. The campus life is vibrant with various sports and cultural activities, though some students feel the faculty interaction could improve. In contrast, Jadavpur University’s BE in Electronics & Telecom Engineering is known for its solid academic foundation and a more engaged faculty, which might be better for students who thrive on close mentorship. However, the overall campus life at NIT Trichy seems to edge out due to more extracurricular options. Personally, I would pick NIT Trichy if you're looking for diverse experiences and strong placement prospects, while Jadavpur University might be a better fit for those who prefer a more academic-focused environment.

When choosing between two streams at different colleges, consider the following factors:

  • Your interest in the field
  • Job opportunities (both government and private sector)
  • Campus placement

If you have equal interest in both fields, then:

  • If you're aiming for government jobs, I recommend going for Electrical, as it has more openings than IT.
  • If you're looking to earn a good salary and enjoy a comfortable work environment, choose IT.
  • Campus placements are generally better for IT, while Electrical sees fewer core companies visiting for recruitment.

Lastly, your rank plays a crucial role too. Electrical and IT seats typically fill up around a 550 rank in the third round. If you don't get your preferred branch, consider participating in the decentralized counselling round. You might secure a seat with a rank around 700.

All the best!

P.S. Decentralized counselling is conducted by the colleges independently (not by the WBJEE board) to fill remaining seats after the third round. These seats become available when candidates who registered for these colleges leave for better options like IIT/NIT.
