No doubt, Jadavpur University is a good college, but I would recommend opting for NIT Trichy:

Jadavpur has some great professors. But NIT Trichy offers more facilities, better placements, an amazing campus, and no political influence. Above all, it is the top NIT in the country. NITs are run by the central government, which means more funding.

Jadavpur University is indeed a great choice for a B.Tech degree, no doubt about that. However, I would recommend opting for NIT Trichy. Here are my reasons:

• NIT Trichy has a stronger brand value across India and even internationally. Many in the western and southern parts of India may not view JU as being on par with NIT Trichy.
• Since your home state is West Bengal, studying away from home will provide you with a wealth of learning experiences—not just academically, but also in terms of life skills, decision-making, and independence. If you’re not prone to homesickness, NIT Trichy is the way to go!
• NIT Trichy attracts students from all over India, which isn’t the case with JU. You’ll have the chance to interact with peers from Kashmir and learn about South Indian languages. You’ll also get to explore the unique cultural quirks, like why Gujaratis name their snacks “atom bombs” and the traditions of Nagaland. This diversity isn’t something you’ll find at JU.

This comparison assumes you’re considering the same branch at both colleges. If that’s not the case, then choose the institute that offers you the better branch.
