JU is a solid choice. While I'm not a JU student, I can confidently say that JU CSE is an excellent option. You won't regret it, trust me!
That said, if you have the chance to get into NIT Trichy for CSE, which is the best NIT in the country, definitely take it! If fees aren't an issue, go for NIT Trichy CSE. It's right up there, just below the top 5 IITs CSE and IIIT H. JU is very close to NIT Trichy, but in my opinion, NIT Trichy is the way to go.
P.S: I'm neither a student of JU nor NIT Trichy. No bias here! :)
They often think they’re superior to all NITs and BITS. If IIT KGP weren’t in Bengal, they might even claim JU is better than IIT B.
Listen, if you’re getting CSE at NIT Trichy, choose it without hesitation. JU is a state college, and it will stay that way. Don’t pay attention to NIRF rankings; it’s ridiculous that VIT ranks above NIT Suratkal. The same goes for JU being ranked above NIT Trichy.
NIT Trichy and Jadavpur University both offer solid Computer Science programs, but NIT Trichy really stands out in terms of placements. With a reported 98% placement rate and top packages reaching 60 LPA, it offers a competitive edge for job seekers. Jadavpur has a good reputation and dedicated faculty, but the placement statistics aren't as strong.
Campus life at NIT Trichy is vibrant with numerous fests and activities, while Jadavpur also has a rich cultural scene. Personally, I would recommend NIT Trichy for those prioritizing placements and a more structured campus experience, while Jadavpur might be a better fit for those valuing academic rigor and a unique cultural environment.
NIT Trichy’s B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering has a significant edge over Jadavpur University’s BE in Computer Science and Engineering when it comes to placements and internships. NIT Trichy boasts a staggering placement rate of nearly 98%, with the highest package reaching 60 LPA and a median package of 14 LPA, while Jadavpur University’s placement statistics are less prominently highlighted. NIT Trichy also offers lucrative internship opportunities, with students reportedly securing stipends as high as 1.2 lakh per month, which indicates strong industry connections. If you’re aiming for top-tier placements and higher salary prospects, NIT Trichy might be the better choice. However, if you prefer a different campus culture or have specific interests aligned with Jadavpur, it might still be worth considering.
NIT Trichy’s B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a solid ROI, with a median package of 14 LPA and a highest package reaching 60 LPA, alongside a fixed fee structure of around 65,000 INR per year, which makes it a great financial choice for many. In comparison, Jadavpur University provides a rigorous curriculum and good faculty, but specific placement statistics aren't highlighted as strongly, and while their fees can be lower, the overall package and placement percentages seem less competitive.
Given the strong placement records and financial structure at NIT Trichy, I’d recommend it for students looking for a higher return on investment, while Jadavpur might be a good fit for those valuing a different educational experience or lower fees.
