Let me give you some advice. If possible, don’t go to Manipal. Every university in this group is really not worth it. Many students have dropped out after realizing the reality. Manipal is immensely overrated, and the professors are not up to par. It’s the most expensive engineering university in India, but the ROI is very low. The amount of investment you make to study at Manipal means it will take you a minimum of 6 years to see any profit.

Most companies prefer recruiting students from government colleges because they assume that many students in private engineering colleges get admission through donation or capitation fees. They can’t differentiate between genuinely good students and those who are just wealthy.

There is also an option to upgrade your branch after your first year at MIT. But DON’T GET FOOLED BY THAT. ONLY 1-2% OF STUDENTS MANAGE TO UPGRADE SUCCESSFULLY. It largely depends on seat availability. You will need a minimum of 9 CGPA to even stand a chance, which is incredibly difficult. Think about it this way: you are taking the seat of a student who might genuinely deserve it more.
