What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

Uplifting the quality of education within the department has been a rewarding yet challenging endeavour. Some of the challenges I have faced and continue to address include:

Ensuring adequate resources for modernising labs, updating equipment, and accessing the latest technology can be a challenge. Securing funding and managing resources effectively are ongoing efforts.

While our faculty is dedicated, fostering continuous professional development and encouraging research requires concerted efforts. Balancing teaching, research, and industry engagement is a challenge that requires careful planning.

Adapting to changing educational policies and regulations at the institutional or governmental levels requires flexibility and administrative coordination.

Rapid technological advancements demand regular updates to our curriculum and teaching methods. Staying ahead of these changes while also maintaining a solid foundation can be demanding. Catering to the diverse learning styles, backgrounds, and abilities of students can be demanding. Personalising the learning experience to meet individual needs requires innovative teaching approaches.

Addressing these challenges involves a combination of strategic planning, resource management, faculty empowerment, industry engagement, and continuous improvement efforts. By tackling these challenges head-on, we aim to elevate the quality of education in the department and provide students with a holistic and relevant learning experience at Dumka Engineering College.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

To help our students navigate the intense competition in the outside world, we emphasise a multi-faceted approach. By nurturing their holistic development, we equip our students to tackle challenges and succeed in the competitive landscape beyond Dumka Engineering College.

What are your views upon the placements and higher education about the students from your department or how does your department prepare students for Higher education?

Placements and higher education are integral aspects of our department's focus. We believe that a well-rounded education should prepare students for both immediate career opportunities and advanced academic pursuits. To achieve this, we adopt the following strategies:

Placements: We maintain strong industry connections to facilitate placements. Our curriculum includes practical training, industry projects, and internships, which give students hands-on experience and make them job-ready. We conduct placement drives, mock interviews, and resume-building workshops to enhance their employability skills. The department's reputation and alumni network also contribute to successful placements.

Higher Education: For students aspiring to higher education, we offer guidance on various postgraduate programs and research opportunities. Faculty members mentor interested students in selecting suitable programs and institutions. We assist in preparing applications, entrance exams, and interviews. Research exposure and collaboration with faculty on projects also prepare students for the rigorous academic challenges of higher education.

By focusing on both placements and higher education, we ensure that our students have a range of options upon graduation, whether they choose to enter the workforce immediately or pursue advanced studies in their field of interest.
