Education sector builds the foundation of a nation and brings prosperity and meaning to the life of individuals

Education is one of the oldest & reputed service sectors from the ancient times. This sector not only builds the foundation of a nation but also brings prosperity and meaning to the life of citizens of any country. It is one of the important pillars behind the success of any nation. One of the best features of this sector is Innovation. It allows full utilization of skills and knowledge to develop anything new for the benefit of society. Teaching is not only a job; it is a responsibility to shape the future of a country which pays back to the society in many folds.

I have almost 20 years of experience in the education sector primarily in teaching, research and administration. Education sector is one of the booming sectors in India. When you see the literacy rate of India among the population aged 15 years and older, it has increased almost 35% in the last 20 years. This increasing population demands more job opportunities in this sector. 

There are several advantages with the jobs in the education sector like Exposure to Multiple Perspectives, Stable Schedule, Personal Fulfilment, Interpersonal Interactions and many others. You can also improve or develop yourself professionally while working in the education sector. You can improve your skills like communication, creativity, technical knowledge, adaptability, management skills. 

So, through these findings, I confidently believe that the education sector is one of the best sectors to work in.

You cannot ride a bicycle by reading a book

The classic example of “learning by doing” is when one learns how to ride a bicycle. You cannot ride a bicycle by reading a book. Similarly, in engineering and management there are many areas which only are imparted when a student adopts learning by doing methodology. We provide many platforms to our students to excel in the above methodology. These platforms include industry-oriented training, engaging students in live projects, mandatory submission of mini projects and major projects, industry internships starting from first year, Student organised mega annual inter college events called Genero etc. Above frameworks or platforms infuse characteristics of leadership, decision making, innovation, knowledge expanding, interpersonal skills development and influencing in a student which can only be imparted by learning by doing methodology.

We inherently work on the industry oriented skill to blend all values 

We inherently work on the industry-oriented skills of students to blend with values. The syllabus designed by AKTU is very comprehensive and covers almost all aspects of any course. In addition to this we have different teams’ working day in day out to identify and bridge the gap between industry & academia. We also emphasise in research-oriented thinking of students. We monitor plagiarism in reports of projects and internships just to ensure the student must be motivated and drill up to the level of perfection. We provide various platforms like national and international competition for the participation of students which helps them in more exposure to the outer world. (UAV vehicle line to be inserted). Simultaneously we work on value system of student so that he/she also becomes an asset to society.

The content of all such platforms are designed and reviewed yearly on the basis of the research done by inhouse team and also on the bias of the feedbacks given by different stakeholders eg. Companies, industries, parents, alumni etc. We also design add ons/ certification programs to inculcate area knowledge which are not the part of syllabus yet required to excel. Industry talks and guest lectures by eminent speakers enlighten the thrive in students to outperform in the selected area. The world class e-resources available at our central library are accessible to students from anywhere to students. We at ABESEC provide the robust and reliable ecosystem where a student becomes industry ready and easily absorbable by industry. We have 91% of placement records for 2019-20 and it is still going on. The highest package offered is Rs. 27 Lacs P.A clearly shows that we work on capability building along with capacity building.

We follow a collaborative style of leadership. This ensures involvement and responsibility of each and every individual connected in the system. We strongly work on the mentor mentee model to ensure that every student gets due attention, care and response. We have a feedback mechanism where a student can also give his opinion on the curriculum which we forward to BoS of AKTU. With the robust structure and framework of teachers’ orientation and students’ orientation program we assure that every member of ABESEC family must learn, change and grow under the purview of continuously improving the ecosystem. We have an online grievance portal with detailed SoPS to tackle each and every grievance upto the satisfaction level of both the parties. 

We have numerous dedicated verticals to identify the need of the industry

There are many aspects which I want people to know about ABESEC. However due to paucity of space I try to collate a few of them here. We strongly believe and inculcate values and “Guru shishya parampara” at our campus. We have different verticals which are continuously working on identifying the needs of industry. On this basis, they develop and design different platforms and modules to prepare students to be industry ready. This includes industry driven trainees, Add on certifications, industry talks etc. In addition to this we have robust infrastructure which includes AC centralised & ICT enabled Lecture theatres, Auditorium, Swimming Pool, flood light stadium, conference halls, seminar halls, central & departmental libraries, Multiple centres of excellence, In Campus separate hostel facility with AC & non-AC accommodations, 77 practical labs etc. which provide platform to students for overall growth.

We always believe that “Hard Work has no shortcuts”. Here, in ABESEC, we continuously strive for excellence. We develop an ecosystem where each and every human being is motivated to align towards their goal. I must say that a student must be focused and alert to achieve his target. All the geniuses have one thing common that they are always in “Learning Mode”, the same is applicable on student as well. Once the students develop the thinking or attitude of this level than even failure becomes learning to them and they fall under category of “bound to succeed”.

Failure is a time gap and depends on each individual how they utilize the time gap

Failure is nothing but a time gap. It depends upon the individual how he/she will utilize that time gap. In my view, failure is a state of mind when we stop learning. Until and unless you are learning you can’t be categorized as a failure. The only motivation which helps a student to overcome this feeling is to introspect or better jot down what went wrong, redevelop the strategy to achieve and reapply for it. As I said earlier also, the best way to overcome failure is to start “learning” and count how much true effort you have put in.
