Stage II: PI and WAT Process

In the second stage of the admissions process at IIM Bangalore, candidates will undergo two key components: a Personal Interview (PI) and a Written Ability Test (WAT). Both the PI and WAT will take place on the same day

and at the same location. The WAT will last for about 30 minutes, during which candidates will be asked to write a note. The evaluation of the WAT will focus on the content and writing style.

Additionally, the weight given to work experience during the pre-PI stage is reduced from 10% to 5% during the post-PI stage. The work experience score will then be multiplied by a "quality of experience" score, rated on a scale from 0.25 to 2, by each member of the interview panel. The average of these ratings will be used to calculate the final, weighted work experience score.

Getting into IIM Bangalore with a 95 percentile in CAT 2024 is challenging, but not impossible, depending on your profile. However, IIM Bangalore emphasizes a holistic selection process. Your academic scores (10th, 12th, and graduation), work experience, and diversity factors (such as gender or academic background) are critical. For instance:

  • CAT score weight: 25%
  • 10th and 12th marks: 10% each
