CAT DILR Syllabus PDF- Check Topics, Weightage, Pattern, Previous Year Trends

CAT DILR syllabus includes two subsections like Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. As per the CAT DILR exam pattern, a total of 22 questions will be asked from the CAT DILR syllabus.

• CAT Data Interpretation syllabus includes topics like Line Charts and Bar Charts, Pie Charts, Tables, Tables with missing values, incorrect values, and connected data sets, Unconventional charts like radar chart, area chart, bubble chart, Venn diagrams, and Caselets.
• CAT Logical Reasoning topics include Seating Arrangement, 2D/3D Space LRs, Routes and Networks, Scheduling, Venn Diagrams, Team Formation, Games and Tournaments, Puzzles, and Selections
• From each topic of the CAT DILR syllabus 2025, students can expect 2-4 questions.

For each correct answer of CAT DILR questions, 3 marks will be awarded; however, there will be negative marking of -1 for each incorrect MCQ and no negative marking for TITA questions. Last year, 14 questions were asked from the CAT Logical Reasoning syllabus, and 8 questions were asked from the CAT Data Interpretation syllabus.

CAT Logical Reasoning Topic-Wise Weightage

Students can expect 3-4 questions each from “Arrangements, Rankings, Team Formation”, and “Syllogisms, Logical Deduction”. 2-4 questions are expected from “Quantitative Reasoning, Puzzles”, and “Venn Diagrams, Binary Logic”. Students can expect a total of 10-12 questions from CAT Logical Reasoning syllabus 2025.

Mistakes to Avoid while Attempting the CAT DILR Section

Here are some common mistakes that students must avoid while preparing for their CAT DILR Section:

• Not formulating a proper study strategy - Students often tend to jump into the preparation of random topics without establishing a proper study plan. It is important to go through the syllabus and understand the weightage of the most important topics. In the CAT DILR section, all topics have an equal weightage. Therefore, plan to study your strong areas before moving on to the weak areas. This will give a confident start in preparation.
• Not attempting a sufficient number of practice questions - Students usually solve one mock test in one month. However, to prepare intensely and score well in the CAT DILR section, you have to attempt at least one mock test every week. Continuously solve problems relating to CAT DILR. This will give you the practice to increase the speed and accuracy required for solving questions from this section.
