If you appeared for CAT 2023, you can check and download the CAT answer key PDF along with CAT 2023 question paper from the official website. To know how to check CAT answer key, see the steps given below:

• Click on the official website of CAT 2023 i.e. iimcat.ac.in
• Now click on the “Candidate Login” tab.
• Enter your CAT Registration Id and password and then click on submit.

CAT Answer Key 2023- How to Raise Objections?

The provision to raise objections to official CAT answer keys was introduced in 2018.

• Applicants who appeared for the exam can challenge the official answer key of any question asked in the entrance examination. If the objection is found to be genuine, the authorities will release the revised official answer key.
• CAT answer key challenge fee per question is increased to INR 1500. 
• Also, the objection fee will be refunded if the objection is found to be genuine by the IIM expert panel. 
• Only 1 objection is allowed to be raised at a time.
• In the 2021 session, changes were made in Shift 1 & 3 answer keys but one question in the QA section was changed in Shift 2 based on the objection raised and submitted by candidates. 

Steps to Challenge CAT Answer Key 2023?

Follow the steps given below while raising the objection against CAT Answer Key:

• Visit the official website of CAT.
• Click on the tab “Candidate Login for Raising Objection”
• Now enter CAT Login ID and password.
• After that, the candidate personal details page will open.
• Click on the tab “Objection form”
• Use the “+” icon to add an objection
• Now candidates need to select details like Question number, section, and type of objection need to be chosen.
• Pick one of the three options - (i) None of the options is a correct answer (ii) More than one option is a correct answer (iii) The answer key is incorrect. 
• Pay CAT answer key challenge fee of INR 1500 per objection through debit/credit or Net banking.

CAT 2023 has been conducted on November 26, 2023. The exam has been held in three slots- Slot 1, Slot 2 and Slot 3. Overall, the paper was difficult compared to 2021 and 2022. CAT 2023 Marking Scheme

There were 66 questions in CAT 2023 question paper. CAT 2023 marking scheme is same for VARC, DILR and Quant sections and for both MCQs and TITA (Type In The Answer) questions. 3 marks are allotted for each correct answer in the exam. 1 mark is deduced for each incorrect answer while no marks is allotted for unattempted/ unanswered questions.

CAT 2023 Score Calculator

To calculate CAT 2023 score with the help of answer key, candidates need to follow the steps given below:

• For each correct answer, 3 marks are awarded, which means if the candidate has got 70 answers correct, then the score will be 70x3 = 210 marks.
• For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted. So, if a candidate has responded 10 questions incorrectly then negative marks are -10.
• Now subtract total marks deducted from total marks scored to get CAT Raw score which is 210-10 = 200 marks.

CAT 2023 Final Answer Key

IIM prepares the final answer key after evaluating the challenges received against the provisional CAT answer key. IIM experts evaluate all the objections raised by the test-takers and revise the provisional answer key. 

CAT final answer key is published on the official website- iimcat.ac.in along with the result. No challenges are accepted against the final CAT key. CAT result is released based on the final answer key and no revaluation is permitted.

CAT 2023 final answer key can be expected in the second week of January 2024. However, IIM Lucknow may inform about the questions dropped in the last week of December 2023.

CAT 2023 Answer Key: Bonus Marks

Bonus marks mean the full marks provided by the examination authority in case of discrepancy in the question paper or the answer options. In case of CAT, IIM does not assign bonus marks directly to the candidates for errors in the questions. 

For example: Last year 2 questions (1 each from slot 2 and slot 3 DILR) were declared ambiguous and hence not evaluated. In this case, IIM adjusted the CAT scores in DILR slot 2 and slot 3 on a prorata basis as per the candidate’s responses/ scores in the remaining questions of DILR.

CAT Result 2023

You can expect CAT result 2023 by the second week of January 2024. Once released, you can download your CAT scorecard 2023 from the official website- iimcat.ac.in 2023. Based on the percentile scores mentioned in your CAT score card, you can apply for MBA admission to IIMs and other top colleges accepting CAT scores.
