Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is divided into two parts which is generally taken in the start of both semesters . At first, you have to pay something about 31370 for admission in the branch and at the end of the semester exams you have to pay about 25000 rs if you are a boy and 10000rs for girls. Also the fees for civil engineering branch is higher than other branches , it's 30000 for boys and 15000 for girls . And the fees structure is same for every category student. and the fees for hostliers for all branches is 28150 for boys and 13150 for girls living in the girl's hostel. And there is no other fees Except the end sem examination fees which is 2500rs for regular student. I did not heard anything about scholarship from the faculty and my batchmates.

Faculty

The faculty members are very cheerful and dedicated towards the education. My most favourite professor was our chemistry faculty named Dr.Ajnesh Singh, his teaching style was very impactful and he remains very calm and composed. One of the professor I didn't liked was our Electronics engineering Faculty, named Mr.Akshay kanwar,he didn't cared about the students and went on leave for 2 weeks during the pre final sem weeks. There are three exams in a semester consisting of MST 1 which contributes in 10 marks in overall semester result and same is MST 2 and then the final semester examination. Many students fail to clear the exam due to the advanced calculation and knowledge required for applied maths and computer programming.

Faculty

No doubt, the faculties are highly qualified and awesome, many of them have done their graduation from nits and iits, they are always ready toh help students in their work, like our maths teacher Miss Sunita thakur, she has amazing teaching skills , she provides us notes and important questions which helps us alot in the exam and mst. There are 2 semester in 1 years , we have 5 subjects in each semester, in every semester we have to give 2 mid semester tests , the mst are easy to medium level in difficulty, in the end of semester, the final exams and practicals begins , the difficulty of final exams are moderate to just a little bit difficult ,but anyone can easily pass if he starts to study just one or two week before exam, around 7 to 10 out of 60 students often fails their final exams resulting in a supply which they have to clear the next year , which is quite of a burden, but with dedication anyone can go all clear and score good cgpa , it's not that hard in this college.

Placement Experience

The placements of my college is very good in terms of textile engineering they offer and average package of around 10 to 11 lpa the highest package that has ever reached is 12 lpa in my college ,talking about the other branches the placements in other branches are not so good but still many companies visit our college offering and average package of around 4 lpa especially in electronics and communication branch. The placements of CSE(AI-ML) is not recorded because computer science engineering is a completely new branch in this college and is established only 3 years ago.

Faculty

The facilities have a lot of experience and they teach quite good , they're very friendly, There are 9 to 10 or even more faculties for our class including all subjects , I particularly liked Sunitha ma'am ( teaches electrical) , her way of teaching is so niceee , she starts from scratch and gradually increases the level, and the time to time assignment questions given by her do help a lot ... There are 4 exams in a year....two semesters odd and even semester, in each semester theres is MST mid sem and EST end sem , I don't know the difficulty level of exam cuz am yet to give one but analysing the previous year papers one can say 70-80 percent questions are doable and come from class works related things

Fees and Financial Aid

The detailed fee structure for open category is as follows: tution fee -15000 Rs, development fee-39850 Rs,other fees-26000 Rs,exam fee-1500 Rs, deposit and caution money-2000 Rs,student insurance -701Rs, Alumini association life membership fees lifetime- Rs 500.....[TOTAL RS 85551] For rest categories the fees is as follows:- SC/ST/PWD :- Rs 4701 OBC/SBC/VJNT A] (Annual income<1.5lakh):- Rs 44,551 B] (Annual income btw 1.5lakh -8 lakh) :- Rs 70,551 EWS/SEBC :- Rs 78051 J&k migrants :- Rs 28701 There are a number of scholarships available in college and there's a specific department made for scholarships related purpose only

Fees and Financial Aid

See the fees in the college depends on your category if you are general then your fees will be aprox 85000 per year and for category like obc sbc it is 42000 per year and less for sc st candidate nearly about 2000 per year if your income is about 1.5 lakh then you have to pay whole general fees the hostel fees of the college is 22000 for hostel and 44000 for pg and mess fees is 22000 per sem so in aprox in 4-6 lakh your whole btech can be completed from here

Faculty

The faculty members are strictly and have some issue they are not friendly with the student the exam pattern is there is mid sem test mst first with is of 40 which is converted to 30 and teachers assessment of 20 marks with including attendance and assignment and 100 mark final exam ese which is converted to 50

According to my JEE Advanced Rank and the counselling, I was allotted the Textile and Fibre engineering department of IIT Delhi. I pursue this course because I was too much influenced by the start-up and entrepreneurship environment of IIT Delhi and I want to go further in this. Besides this, I also heard too much about the research in our department and their achievements. Faculty: student ratio of IIT Delhi is much better than the rest of the colleges in India but still IT is low compared to the world numbers. It is about 1:13. The Faculty members of the textile and fibre engineering department have completed their research in many foreign universities and give they're contributed in these fields. They give in-depth knowledge of the subjects and also help in lab work. As IIT Delhi is one the most reputed education institute in India it is too much difficult for students to deal with academics along with other club-related things.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very economical as this is a premier institute of the nation where students are admitted solely on a merit basis. Also, there are various scholarships available that provide a considerable amount of fee waiver to the students who satisfy the requirements. Campus jobs and projects under various faculties are also available for interested students.

Course Curriculum Overview

The reason for choosing this course at IIT Delhi was that firstly I am interested in the textile industry and would like to pursue a career in the fashion industry after my bachelor's degree. The course curriculum is extremely exhaustive and the faculty members are extremely knowledgeable and qualified ( mostly PhDs) and are extremely cooperative with students.

The annual fest is Rendezvous and the tech fest is tryst of IIT Delhi and they are being conducted in mid-March this year. A lot of different books are available in the library and one can easily access them. there are many extracurricular and sports activities held on campus throughout the year also there are many clubs run by students like Facc dance music etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted IIT Delhi as it is one of the best institutions in India. Faculty: student ratio is generally 1:8. Professor and assistant professor are highly qualified and knowledgeable, every Faculty has different teaching methods some are good some are not that good. Exams were held timely and in starting they were a bit difficult.

Campus Life

The annual fest, here at IIT Delhi is called Rendezvous, which is considered to be one of the biggest Cultural fests in India. The tech fest is called Tryst, which is north India's largest. The library here is good but my expectations were a little bit higher still. The classroom infrastructure is pretty good and comfortable. The culture of sports is also decent here in Delhi and there is a pretty dominant 'Club' culture with very active participation from students

Internships Opportunities

There are plenty of companies coming to offer internships to the students, very similar to the placement season. Internships are also coordinated by the Office For Career Services. Students entering their third year or fourth year for a dual degree sit for these processes. Roles like SDE, Quant, consult and analytics are available with stipends ranging from 30000 to even 12L for Quant roles. Often, pre-placement offers are given

Course Curriculum Overview

Since in our first year, we don't start learning our course curriculum but are taught different courses of different departments and everyone learns the same thing, I haven't had a chance to interact with my faculty members much more often. Still, the courses we have been taught are very interesting and a bit hard too to grasp quickly the faculty members are nice and they clear our doubts about asking too. all the faculty members I have interacted with are top-notch and masters of their fields. The term exams have a strict schedule and usually, there's no delay as we have relative grading in some courses so there isn't much difficulty to pass but one cannot do it in a single day he or she has to be consistent and attend classes regularly.

Campus Life

The college infrastructure is of good quality and well-maintained. The classrooms and the lecture hall complex everything has all the amenities one will require while studying. There is a sports complex and huge ground available for all kinds of outdoor sports. One can explore each and every sport and play a variety of sports. Since people from various parts of the country come here, so we get to learn all about their culture and lifestyles. People interact with each other and make new friends. We have a lot of events where we get to interact with others. There is a central library where all kinds of books and journals are available.

Campus Life

The social life at IIT Delhi is quite engaging and the peers are welcoming in any field which one seeks to pursue during their time at IIT. The seniors are also welcome and enthusiastic to teach the freshers the basics of all the variety of opportunities available at the campus. The annual cultural fest of IIT Delhi is "Rendezvous" and the tech fest is "Tryst". All the code books are available in the library but are in limited amounts. One has to reach early in the library to issue the books for the semester. One does not really need books to study, the lecture notes are all one needs to get good grades. The classrooms are well equipped with lots of charging ports available for the laptops and have a big projector through which the professor teaches. All sports are played within the campus, including squash and hockey which are rare in many other colleges. All the clubs here are ultimately run by the students and seek minor help from the authorities whenever needed

Course Curriculum Overview

The first year course curriculum is the same for all the branches except for the departmental "Introduction to Engineering" class, which is specific for all engineering departments The curriculum is versatile and includes almost all topis that an ideal college should include in the first year curriculum. The professors are very well at teaching their respective subjects if one pays attention in class. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:11 for the textile department. All the professors are PHD holders and teach in their own creative ways. Some professors teach through slides and others teach through writing on the system which is then projected on a large screen for the class to see. The term exams were would early due to the late starting of the batch for to the coronavirus. They were easy enough to pass if one just pays attention in class.

Campus Life

The social life of IITD is one of its biggest pros. The various clubs in all fields provide numerous opportunities to the students. The annual fest is one of the biggest in India - rendezvous whose inauguration this year has been done by Ashneer Grover. The sports facilities are also very good, there are 13 sports and various sports tournaments like GC(inter hostel matches) and Inter IITs take place. All the clubs are run by the students themselves which makes them quite trained and managed such as Ankahi, IITD on Air, etc. The library is also quite huge with all the resources available to you in books as well as eBooks.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course to enter the top IIT which is IITD as the exposure and experience provided there are the best. The faculty is okay but if you are hardworking and diligent you can use the many provided facilities in your favor. All the professors are highly qualified and still doing research in various fields. The term exams schedule was quite harsh due to the Covid situation and papers were also of a very good level for which one needs thorough understanding.

Ques. Is it a good choice to prefer IIT Delhi textile over IIIT Delhi CSE, considering the fact that branch change is quite hard in IITD?

● Top Answer By Sanjana Kapoor on 04 Oct 23

Ans. IIT Delhi has a much greater brand value as compared to IIIT Delhi. IIT D is superior in many aspects, one of which is campus life.  I have many friends in IITD Textile. They bagged foreign internships in the IT sector during their second year. The coursework for Textile is very manageable. You’ll get ample time to practice coding on your own. Don’t worry about branch change. Even for a career in CS/IT, self-practice will get you through. Also, opt for the open electives offered at IIT Delhi. You’ll ace CS/IT placement tests, and secure a good job. Thus, I would recommend you choose IIT Delhi Textile over IIIT Delhi CSE. Read more

Ques. Which is better, IIT Delhi Textile Technology or NIT Delhi CSE (considering I have a very high interest in programming)?

● Top Answer By Yash Mehra on 10 Apr 23

Ans. Both institutes are well known for their excellent education and opportunities offered. So you can choose the branch and college on the basis of your own preferences. However, some points you might want or consider Campus : NIT Delhi operates from a temporary campus which is located far away from the country and its permanent campus is still under construction. IIT Delhi on the other hand is a fully-fledged established Institute with a fully functioning well facilitated campus. Placements : Although Textile Engineering has very few core job opportunities, people tend to go for non-core jobs instead to secure a high-paying job at a top company. Meanwhile, NIT Delhi being younger than IIT Delhi has fewer companies visiting campus with CS roles despite being a demanded branch. If you are actually keen to pursue CSE, go for better Engineering colleges like NITs, DTU, NSIT, and IIIT D. In fact even at IIT Delhi, you can pursue your coding passion alongside your main branch textile and sit for IT placements. The final decision is yours to make and you can consider additional aspects like fees, location, and academics while making your decision.Read more

Ques. What should I take among IIT Delhi textile, IIT Kharagpur biotechnology, and IIT Guwahati engineering physics?

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 10 Apr 23

Ans. The choice of college and branch totally depends on your inclination and career prospects. Yet, a few pointers you might consider  For MBA/ non-core jobs/Startups: IIT Delhi Textile is the best choice if you are looking for any 3 of these options. Its excellent location provides enough exposure to give you access to unimaginable opportunities. Many events hosted by industry experts, CEOs of big companies, and successful entrepreneurs will give a better insight into the startup culture. Moreover, students preparing for competing exams can easily access coaching centers nearby. Research in Biotechnology: If you are interested in research in general or Biotechnology specifically, then the Biotechnology at KGP is an excellent choice. It is one of the most demanding fields in terms of research and general growth. With a good CGPA, you can find a research internship or you can apply for MS or Ph.D. Even job opportunities are plentiful.  Campus: IIT Delhi is better because of its small size and location Lastly, Engineering Physics from IIT Guwahati should be considered only if you are genuinely passionate about Physics and want to pursue a research career in the same. The curriculum comprises high-tech mathematical concepts and is a good option to pursue a career in economics and computer science.Read more

Ques. Is MSU Baroda a good place to study textile engineering?

● Top Answer By Farah Shah on 31 Dec 22

Otherwise, there are better textile colleges outside of Gujarat, such as IIT Delhi, DKTE (Maharashtra), GCTI (Kanpur, UP), and so on. The majority of the teachers in the Textile Department at MSU Baroda are excellent and helpful. There is also a good learning infrastructure. Ques. Which one will be better, textile engineering in VJTI or CS from KJ Somaiya?

● Top Answer By Suranjana Bhattacharya on 08 Jul 21

Ans. Out of textile engineering from VJTI and CS from KJ Somaiya, CS from Somaiya will be a better choice. As one of my friends studied there, I am able to share some facts about it. CSE is a trending branch and the most popular one. The best option for you will be KJ Somaiya. When it comes to placement at KJ Somaiya, they are decent. A total of 70 companies visited the campus for on-campus placements and offered great salary packages. The campus life at KJ Somaiya is amazing and is very welcoming. KJ Somaiya is an autonomous college and there are many advantages of being from a college with an autonomous status. Categories Textile Engineering at VJTI CS at KJ Somaiya Course Fee 3.24 lakhs 13.80 lakhs Highest CTC 18-19 LPA 23 LPA Average CTC 4-5 LPA 15 LPA Recruiting Companies Pantaloons, Raymond, Reliance, Amazon, etc. Capgemini, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, Wipro, etc. Choosing textile engineering from the VJTI can get a bit tricky further in your career. CSE is a much more reliable branch on which to focus your career. But if a person is interested in the textile branch and without any second thought, opt for VJTI, and if not then for KJ Somaiya.Read more

Ques. Which course is better for higher studies, textiles at IIT Delhi or chemical at IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Prajukta Ghose on 06 Apr 23

Ans. Ranking-wise the preference order of the above-mentioned courses is  IIT Delhi > IIT Kanpur > IIT Roorkee > IIT BHU Based on their closing rank, the branches can be arranged in the following order  Chemical>Metallurgy>Textile  This was based on general data, but if you have an inclination towards a specific branch, then go for it without much hesitation. Your passion will keep you motivated despite various challenges thrown at you. But in case you have no specific preference, then you can consider the college and branch ranking to make an informed decision. Apart from CS and Electrical, students from most branches opt for non-core jobs which require much more than their core academics for placements. In that case, you can prefer IIT BHU over IIT Roorkee. Ultimately, the final decision is yours to make. Choose wisely considering various factors like location, friends, etc,Read more
