IITD- DREAM OF MANY

I chose this course to enter the top IIT which is IITD as the exposure and experience provided there are the best. The faculty is okay but if you are hardworking and diligent you can use the many provided facilities in your favor. All the professors are highly qualified and still doing research in various fields. The term exams schedule was quite harsh due to the Covid situation and papers were also of a very good level for which one needs thorough understanding.

As I am a freshman I have not yet experienced internships. Still, the internships are offered from the third year and it is quite helpful for students to get real-life experience. The companies can even provide you with jobs if they are impressed with your work as an intern.

Being a freshman I am not that aware of the campus placements. But still, according to the newspaper the campus placements are quite good and the percentage of students placed is quite high. The no. of companies that come to IITD is more than any other college in India. There are internship opportunities too from the third year on campus. placements take place from the fourth year.

The fee structure is average i.e not too high not too low. Whereas one can take loans if one needs them. Some internships are provided from the second year which sometimes is paid and also helps you to receive real-life experience.

The social life of IITD is one of its biggest pros. The various clubs in all fields provide numerous opportunities to the students. The annual fest is one of the biggest in India - rendezvous whose inauguration this year has been done by Ashneer Grover. The sports facilities are also very good, there are 13 sports and various sports tournaments like GC(inter hostel matches) and Inter IITs take place. All the clubs are run by the students themselves which makes them quite trained and managed such as Ankahi, IITD on Air, etc. The library is also quite huge with all the resources available to you in books as well as eBooks.

I am quite satisfied with my hostel, Karakoram, and its facilities. The food is also decent and the rooms also. There is a grocery shop, gym, mess, tv room, music room with musical instruments, and a lawn in the hostel. The registration process was done by the students representative of the hostel themselves and it was quite smooth. Moreover, the seniors are very helpful and ready to provide a helping hand whenever required. The hostel spirit is also strong.

The admission process was through JEE mains and JEE advanced. As we all are aware that it is one of the most challenging entrance exams in India so at our time the paper was quite hard. Jee's mains result was in the form of percentile whereas jee advanced was a two-paper process having various patterns of questions. After that admission process was through Josaa counseling, which is a very structured and easy method.
