There is a sarthi yojna run by the NSS students for dropping students from one place to another at cost of just 5 rupees and much more is available in the college.

Faculty

The faculty members are really good and of helping nature. We go for observational visits on every Friday for field work and note it down in our diaries then prepare a report and submit it to be checked by our respectable mentor selected. The internal exam is held of 15 marks before the actual semester exam, there is no passing marks for it. The written exam is of 70 marks and the assignments carry 15 marks. Before every semester we have to choose new subjects almost 7 subjects are to be chosen for every semester along with one field work.

Fees and Financial Aid

In the first year I paid around Rs.71,050(Tution fee was Rs.30,000 / Eligibility feebwas Rs.10,000 / Other fees Rs.25,500 / Non- Karnataka fees Rs.5,550). In the Second year I paid Rs.64,000( Tution fees was Rs.30,000 / Language- Introduction Kannada Rs. 1000 / Other fees was Rs.29,000 / Rural Camp fee Rs. 4000). In the third year I paid Rs.68,000 ( tution fees rs. 44,100 / Other fees Rs.18,900 / Tribal Visit fee Rs.5000) And there are scholar ship schemes available in the university like magis scholar ship(includes mid day meal program), management scholarship etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

Oh the exposure we get on field is much more educative than in the class. The rural camp, tribal visit and the fieldworks has given me a lot of exposure both personally and professionally. Most of the things that we are taught in class has to be performed or applied in the field, which makes us more educated. But in the beginning everything was pretty hard to e figured out but I got the hang of it. And the mentors are most likely willing to help and assist.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee for my college is 75000, which can be conveniently paid in a semester wise basis. This make it more manageable as the fee for each semester amounts to 37,500., payable at the start of the respective term. This structured payment system ensures that students and their families have ample time to plan and arrange for funds. Overall, the semester wise payment option and clear communication about changes in fees make it easier for students to plan financially throughout their academic journey.

Campus Life

I personally, didn't join any club but the department always had programs coming up so had to take part in those. The infrastructure is pretty not good because the campus is not huge so we need to take appointments prior to every event. It's always clashed and somehow go through it.

We have 7 faculties in our department and the relationship among faculty are very good they are very approachable, the one faculty I liked the most is Ma’am Krishnakhi she is very friendly to students and helps us in every aspect where the faculty I don't like is our vice dean sometimes he is very strict and make no exceptions to students. There are 3 exam throughout the semester 2sessional and end semester, end semester exam might be very difficult for those who are slow in typing in computer because our end semester exams are held in lab and in last semester 6 students got backlog

Campus Life

There are lots of small feat held in campus but there is only one big fest in year which is attitude where they invite Bollywood singers,dj and many underrated singers around . We have 3 different libraries in campus with availability of all books for all courses there are lots of sports events held in like Adtu cricket series and football series, swimming competitions, sports basketball, volleyball and many more , all social group and club are run by students itself

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay about 84k per year. i know there are scholarships available but I'm not very knowledgeable about it. We pay a huge amount and I think it's quite too much since we pay even more when we have things like fieldwork and all so a lot of money goes into just travel apart from tuition

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose bsw as im interested in social work there is only less colleges provide bsw in kerala , the course doesn't have that much opportunities in India but in Europe, bsw department is very good according to other departments because the teachers are far better than the main campus teachers but the most teachers are like doing cbse kind of methods in college and that make me mad , like we have to submit notebooks to get attendance, asking questions and If we not answer cutting attendance if we talk they cut the attendance extra it's very disgusting and makes me mad not also me everyone this stupid methods need to stop and they exams are frequent, also they conduct alot of workshops for students about research, extra curricular activities also conducted rural campa observation visits etc that things are very appreciated and enjoyed very much, and students have good freedom than other departments..also the facilities are very good we have our own canteen , printint store and restrooms

Faculty

There is alot of skilled teachers in college included teachers who have phd there is 35 + departments in college around 150+ teachers are there, alot of teachers are very friendly and approachable, but alot of female teachers are very rude always targetting girls for dresss code even it's modest the can't accept it they just keep doing disgusting things and trying to degrade girls who wear whats they are comfortable in.. especially the miss sheeba she thinks she is the principal even principal is better than this and vivekanandan sir he is very toxic and patriarchal guy..and alot of one's i don't even know their name , but there is alot of good teachers in college who is very supportive and helpful caring etc , also i have how some teachers don't give attendance even we are attend

The college has n number of clubs such as dramatics , photography, folk dance , light music , western music etc and student training programs such as yoga , self-defence, folk dance and shuttle are very well planned and organised with we'll experienced staff .

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of this course comes around 25,000 in first semester and more or less the same amount needs to be paid for the odd semesters and for even semesters , the amount is somewhat less like 17k to 18k , so the total cost of this program comes around 1,50,000 rupees , this is totally worth as this covers the tuition fee , access to resources and also the transport facility for field work and training. One can get into this course if they have 50% and more in their class 12th and also the college selects students on first come first serve basis . No recommendation works in SMC ..

Course Curriculum Overview

•The field work, internship, research etc. is main attraction of the curriculum •As a social work trainee, the curriculum is really helpful and it puts the trainees through lot of real life situations and enables them to handle it professionally. •The syllabus is good but it certainly needs regular updations in the fast moving world. •The semester exams are conducted in every 3-4 months and the invigilation is pretty strict

Faculty

•There are enough faculty in our department to handle classes •The faculty of my department has pretty great credentials on paper but it didn't feel so in real life. Their approach to teaching felt pretty outdated to me and the mentorship isn't really all that great. With all respect, the Ego of teachers is really too big. •Some teachers do take interest in interacting with you and understanding your needs but it is rare.
