Fees and Financial Aid

KLE S Njialingappa college is one of the few institutions that offers BA journalism a professional course in Bengaluru. With its authentic studio it helps expolre the students with practical knowledge. The fees structure include 25000 per annum. The one who fall under category will pay slightly lower which helps in equity and Inclusivity. It provides need based scholorhip, also the institution itself offers scholarship based on the performance and category of the students. Institution is also famous for its college festivals, interdependentmental as well as intracollege functions which helps the student to explore extracurriculars and sports. If someone is looking for BA journalism with low cost fees with excellent infrastructure and mentors, KLE is golden opportunity for them.

Faculty

Faculty to student relationship is great. They act like mentors and help students in overall development. Very encouraging interms of extracurriculars, Supraja mam, tara mam, Shivkumar sir, yashaswini mam, are some of my favourite due to their liberl way of looking at learning. Total 6 semesters with intenals every two months once. All of them was useful and in line with Curriculum.

Campus Life

You will have different programs every month but you will not be given much time to prepare for it if u are gonna participate. You have around 5 to 6 clubs where you can become a member to any desired club and get certificates at the end. You don't have sports facilities. You just have NCC in which you can join and get recruited even in that way

Placement Experience

We are given placements in different reputed companies like Concentrix, Dell, HP, Infosys, Canada life, Reliance etc., The package starts from 35,000 pm and goes upto 1,00,000 pm but not everyone gets such good packages. Around 40% of the people get recruited every year. I have a plan of starting my own start up company.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course which I choose are Journalism and Communicative English which is the perfect one if you want to be a journalist or even if you want to enter the corporate world the course is not just theoretical but more practical or I can say it makes you ready for the real world competition. The only thing I felt is in the syllabus you study things repetitively I mean in both subjects the concepts are almost similar but taught in different semesters. If this changes and if they could include more concepts than the repetition it would be great.

Faculty

Amazing teaching staff, experienced and expert teacher with lots of insights about the subject and very supportive both in academics and other things .... Especially if you need any career guidance or anything related to your academic or career oriented doubt they are ready to answer it any time ... Especially my journalism teacher Sushma ma'am she is amazing and my favourite one.... When it comes to exam it is organised systematically and very strict interms to procedures... They make sure that the exam is conducted ethically...

The Faculties are really very experienced and there teaching methods are something that we should really appreciate and they will help us in any aspects. Dr.Anurupoora is our HOD and one of the best teacher we have and i can literally write all my Faculties names causei all were a wonderful teachers for ous and other department students were jealous of ous for having such a wonderful teachers. They not only teach us classes but also teaches us moral and ethical principles and life lessons. There are no such teacher that i hate... There are 3 main exams and other minor exams Ther 3 main exams are mid term, preparatory and end sem exams .. and the exams are moderate level for me and 90 percent of the people pass the exams . And 10 percent of the people fail exams and also in most of the clg without paying ur sem fee they wont allow you to write exam but in GCU the good thing is they make u write a writen explanation and allow u to write exams

Course Curriculum Overview

I loved the interrelation between IR and Journalism, and I feel like for someone who is going to prepare to become diplomats or for the UPSC exams, this course will really help as it covers a lot of aspects across both the disciplines. The 3 years you put in really pushes you as a student, exploring multiple realms of both the disciplines. Only problem I had was that journalism could be a bit more hands-on, maybe we could have been taught a bit more about broadcast journalism and reporting in the media. Other than that all topics covered are interesting and exams are pretty straightforward.

Campus Life

The campus is not as alive as I have seen other campuses across Bangalore. There are always stalls lined up selling cute pins, brooches and all that, and even food. There are two major fests, Pratibha and Visages and there is also a Startup Mela annually which is quite fun. The NCC and NSS departments also puts in a lot of effort into training their cadets, and there are also clubs for western music, classical music and dance. Yet, the cultural atmosphere could be more vibrant in my opinion, but it is not boring also.

some of the faculty members are absolute gems. but some of the teachers are so bad and so verbally discouraging to the students. they disrespect some of them so badly. personally i have been targeted so many times in places where it was not necessary. teaching wise most of them are good. exams are pretty good but teachers didn't help us prepare much for our first exam. only some faculty members are approachable.

Fees and Financial Aid

tution fees is around eighty five thousand to ninety thousand. uniform fees comes to around three thousand five hundred. they made us pay exam fee for two thousand eight hundred. apart from that, we have a news paper subscription for our course per year, this cost around three hundred. so approximately we paid around one lakh ninety thousand plus for 1 year. the fees increases for each year.

Faculty

So each semester there are 1 final examination and 3(2 theoretical+ 1 practicals) examinations. The 3 examinations accumulate for your internals and also for the end semester exams. The difficulties depend on courses as each course is based on exposure. The faculties in my department of journalism are very friendly and good I like Prof. neelambari ma'am as she's the friendliest and knows where to be strict

Campus Life

Good, the natural aspect acts as a detox from the stress and the clubs are fun too the college is filled with events as each department has its own events and workshops which makes it more fun to enjoy the college life plus there are students from all over the country which makes it diverse yet United

The faculty are mostly friendly but they are very repetitive with what they teach. I learnt the same thing for 3 years. I wanted a touch of broadcast journalism too which I didnt get. I wish there was more effort taken by the faculty

Fees and Financial Aid

The faculty ratio of the students to faculty is around hundred students per one teacher. The best faculties have to be Surya Sankar Sen Who was my political science teacher as well as the class mentor. He had a great vocabulary and insight on Greek politics. He was also a very kind teacher who could be approached by students for resolving issues with other teachers. Another one is Miss Harini Madhusuban Who taught us conflict and peace studies,a kind teacher who was very considerate of the students attendance and always remembered each and every students name. Another one of the teacher is my current international relations, teacher, Mr. Areesh Kumar Who is always pushing students towards the many opportunities of international conferences as well as paper presentations. A teacher, I didn't like would be Somaiah sir from political science department who got agitated quickly. There are two exams per semester. One is internals & Second is Endsems. And they're quite easy.

Campus Life

The most popular fest at our college is the Pratibha held mostly during the month of February. The first lasts for three days and covers Dance performance, DJ , Comedy skits As well as different food stalls put up by students as well as others. Another fest is swagath Which is basically a freshers day for the first years held during August Where is students dress up in fancy outfits to celebrate their first year. The library has access to a wide range of books and also has a digital library. The attendance can be easily tracked through the website, which shows the number of classes missed per day or overall. A wide range of sports facilities are provided like basketball court, football played in the field as well as table tennis. The student council comprising of the elected candidates is the largest student run social group and they manage the fest and events at the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is good and as of my department the curriculum is so nice and kinda has many practical applications, still in my point of view I guess the written exam curriculum could be more relevant to the new media, it is mostly based on history, history is good.... Tbh I love 'em still it is mostly based on history and it could be better if it also suits the modern era

Internships Opportunities

So... in our department no companies come and volunteer to give internships but students have to search for internships on their own, this is kinda nice only but it would be better if college provides internships, cos not everyone can get their own internships, some people need a headstart but it is not provided

The faculty here is decent they are quite approachable but not every time the teaching staff is nice but the office staff is quite rude . The office staff in the college are not approachable it doesn't provide any facilities and help when needed. There are early two semesters held and the difficulty level is moderate. The course curriculum is 80% relevant

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is just perfect. It's balanced so much so that the professor pays one-on-one attention to everyone. The faculty really tries to connect with the students. They come up with different tasks to keep students engaged. Also, they're very understanding about mental health and wellness of the students.

Placement Experience

From 4-5 semester onwards you can go ahead for the placements. There are top notch companies hiring on campus. Also, there are placements in which everyone can participate from every department. The college's chairman is MRF's CEO which has helped the college gain it's one of its kind Innovation Centre.

The teachers are very chill in my department, they are very understanding and opem tto whatever we have to say about anything. They give us the full freedom to express our feelings in blog posts or journalism assignments. In the international relations, the teachers are very helpful when it comes to daily life problems or even the studies. Overall, my experience has been great except the harrasment I went through and college authorities took 7 8 months to get it sorted which really impacted me bad.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course which I took that is journalism, its really good and I feel the teachers are very interactive. Our teachers criticize our reports and blogs in a way that tells us what changes are needed in our writing and skills.

Course Curriculum Overview

I loved talking right from when I was a child . So after 10th I thought of choosing something apart from MBBS and Engineering for my career. That is how I ended up in Journalism. The curriculum is like 40% practical and 60% theory which gives us exposure on how to be in the real world.

Campus Life

There are n number of club and sahaya activities apart from academics. Sports, and other cultural activities are given full support in the college. There are lot of programmes happening in and around the college on a daily basis. Students also do side business in college.
