Course Curriculum Overview

5

I beleive the curriculum is good however for the field of journalism it requires a little more effort by the faculty as along with that they need vetter teachers i would suggest who were former Journalists or have experience in that filed altleast for 10 years or above

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship oppurtunities are provided by the college however i would suggest that the students too make an effort in getting the opportunities themselves to keep them on a safer side. The range of stipend ranges from 10k to 15k, also the colleg provides opportunity of internship in campus only where in the stude ta can apply for administrative roles and roles of verifying student data etc.

Placement Experience

4

After degree i olan to wirk for max 2 years and then apply for masters either through gate exam and go to IIT or go abroad. Other than that i prefer to go for job in camous placement opportunity that they will provide. There are numerous comoanies from various field that are looking to employee students from journalism and engkish background also for sociology you have wonderful opportunities if you're planning for masters degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

They provide management scholarship academic excellence scholarships and also state scholarship. The fees for the B.A. jour alism Sociology for the first year for non Karntaka students was around 70,500 rs however it was almost 10k less for residents of karnataka. The fees depends based on the semesters. The current fees for final year stands at 65,000rs for final year. This might increase or decrease in the near future.

Campus Life

4

The student ran clubs need wider reach in shift 3 also the infrastructure can be developed far more than the one it has now. The fests and clubs are amazing also the opportunities for such events are wonderful. Sports wise also they can introduce few more games rather than the ones available now.

Admission

To be honest i liked the course combination at the first glance itself so i had applied for it. Secondly it was well known and has a history of amost 2 century and also along with that i had applied for du however the results for du or cuet is announced very late because of which i had to stick woth SJU. The admission included online process of uploading boards marks and then an online interview, based kn which tge selected candidtaes were announced

Faculty

4

The faculties are very good as tgey are reachable even before or after college hours. However i would say that you should not take advantage of them being polite. Specially the Sociology facult of the evening shift is a gift to the students who are studying in this institute as they not only help you in studies however also empathize for your own personal problems and help you in finding jobs amd clear every doubt you have. The morning shifts classes have atleast 70 to 80 students per class, for which i think that student to teacher ratio is little irrational. The journalism faculty needs improvement and better professors who are well experienced in the field of journalism, also the college should invest in proper machineries including a simulator lab that would help the students gain a real life experience for reporting. The exams consists of 2 cia 1 mid term exam and 1 final exam. Other than that the teachers might take suprise text or even open book assignment, it varies from teacher to teacher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- curriculum specially for BA is not like how you see in other universities it's a comprehensive curriculum where your also studying subject like AI learning, data analysis, regional languages and so much more it is a comprehensive course which is not only focusing on your major but also on an overall development of you as a student.. - well we are not only getting in-class lectures but we also have a internal component of internship every year which helps us get an experience of real world situations and job market. -There is one course called numbers we have that could be improved it basically talks about mathematical in economic applications numerical implications particularly which has not been given more thought on it could be more elaborated and structured well. - frequency is high and difficulty is moderate usually.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Remarks:

I liked the course provided by this college. The subjects are different for every semester and the aura is splendid. This college provides a very good faculty which not only is good at keeping up with academics, but also is great in keeping a good rapport with their students. There is a whole variety of extra curricular activities which brings out the core personality of every student. I for a fact, had stage fear. But after I chose MIC, I really started getting over it.
