Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is very easy for undergraduate students in the first year. I am not aware about the 2nd and 3rd year curriculum. The teaching could be improved in the following ways: Teachers can try to be more informative about the topics they are teaching and give us more details which could help us to crack competitive exam which most students write at the end of their undergraduate studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee: 90000 Admission fee: 5000 1st year : 95000 2nd year: 89000 3rd year: 90000 There are scholarships available in the college like Life Good Scholarship, SSP scholarship and other scholarships sourced from outside the college which we can apply for. There is also Management scholarship for Academic excellence, Economically weak students and for students from NCC/ NSS

Campus Life

4

We have many fest going on in the college. They are very fun to watch and participate in. The most recent and my favourite one was the kannada rajostav celebration where the institution display the heritage of Karnataka, it's cinemas and songs. We were also blessed by the presence of a kannada rajostav awardee and actor sharan who were also equally amazed by the program.

Admission

St Joseph University was the first college that I applied to. The University is not very strict about the dress code and allows us to wear clothes besides formals. This is a very important parameter according to me because other colleges of very strict about this and I do not find a reason why they should be so strict about it.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is 40:1. The teachers are approachable. I love the biochemistry faculty as the teachers are very efficient in their teaching and also help or guide us and clear all of our doubts. The difficulty of exams vary for each paper. The language papers are easy. The core subject papers can sometimes be hard to crack. Not many fail in the exams but even if they fail the teachers are not to be blamed because most of the students goof off all the time.

Night Life

3

I don't have much idea about the night life in or around the campus because I stay with my parents and not in the hostel. Also the hostelites have a curfew you at 6:00 p.m. due to which they don't get to stay late at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is a triple disciplinary course in Biotechnology, Chemistry and Microbiology. It's a pretty impressive yet morbidly difficult course over other such courses. It's future aspects span a huge range of jobs with inclusions like research and development as well as corporate jobs. There is nothing to be improved more in this course, it's pretty much self sufficient the way it is. The frequency of exams is pretty average however there are frequent class tests which is important for the students' development. Thetiming of the cia is 1.5 hr and for the end sems is 3hr. The papers are pretty standard however he Chemistry paper is difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placement scene in this college is promising, especially for students pursuing B.Sc and M.Sc programs. it has a dedicated placement and training cell that actively prepares students for the recruitment process by mock interviews. students become eligible for placements in final year. the top recruiting companies includde infosys, wipro, cognizant etc. On an average 50 to 60% of eligible students get placed with the remaining either pursuing higher education or looking for opportunities in civil service or elsewhere. My plans after my graduation is to pursue masters in forensic science in NFSU and then to work in the FSLs
