College life op

Likes

The diversity of college is good. I met a lot of new personalities with different mindsent belonging to different parts of the country.
The faculty is well educated and keeps all the students engaged in what they are teaching.
Regular tests help us concentrate more on syllabus and motivates us to study consistently

Dislikes

Wifi connection is really bad. Even the mobile data doesn't work in college
They don't provide any room for society practices.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very old and rigid, they still teach traditional methods which lack practical knowledge and syllabus is updated really slowly. But with the introduction of SEC and VAC courses, students can now choose from a variety of skill enhancement courses and make a combination of their own.

Likes

My college is serious about studies we have regular classes, assignments, presentations and tests.
It’s an all girls college so everything from managing societies and organising fests everything is done by girls only.
Students are friendly, helpful and you will not experience any kind of bullying.

Dislikes

As a part of delhi university north campus we don’t get to have many esteemed guest as other college of north campus have.
The odd semesters gets boring as no major events occur during this time.
Most of the days at college are normal with no exciting things happening around.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards people become eligible for placement. Important companies are Accenture delloite etc highest package may be around 10-12lpa and average around 4-5lpa the placement rates are not that high. Many students enroll for higher education.

I chose the Course BA economics, honours because of my interest in it This course helps to practically deal with real life, problems of supply and demand , import and export scarcity, optimisation, etc improvement in the course curriculum may include providing more practical knowledge rather than book learning

DRC in Nutshell

Likes

The faculty is very good, and most professors are good mentors for the students
The campus has a beautiful auditorium which is great for performers like us
The canteen and eating facilities that have been provided are good

Dislikes

The entire campus has very unclean washrooms
The infrastructure overall is quite old and needs renovation
The green patches of the college can be expanded

Course Curriculum Overview:

The psychology honours course at daulat ram college is quite well known and has one of the best faculty members in the entire college. The course is well up to date with international notms as well and incorpates indian perspectives

Three years , countless memories loving my college beyond its flaws

Likes

I like mostly professors of my college because they are very cooperative and the authority of my college is also cooperative
Our college is not that strict with attendance thing students are free to take holidays during they’re ill
The canteen and the food our college is also very hygienic and clean

Dislikes

There are very of my college professors that are not kind and cooperative with students
Few classrooms are not maintained and they are in very bad condition
Our college do not provide us clean water

I've English hons and I've learned so many new things with this course even my interest towards novels,fiction, and literature has developed so much after selecting this course and the way my professor teach so many new things in the course has helped me so much to love this course more and I've started connecting more with the real world

Aesthetics of Daulat Ram college

Likes

Faculty of our college is very good and helpful
Library is decent with good number of books
Hygiene in both canteen and washroom is good

Dislikes

Less food options in canteen it should be vast
Less sports option in college it should be increased

Honest review about my college

Likes

I just like the library arrangement of my college. It's very appropriate environment for studying and preparing for your exams well. Also, the library remains open in sundays too for students who face difficulty for studying at home.
Greenery of our college, lots of trees and herbs in college, front lawn in so suitable for sitting calmly and soending quality time with friends.
Staff members in the lab have modest behavior. They understand student's problems but some professors also scold them on silly things just to show their power in front of students.

Dislikes

The timetable of our college. Significant no. of students who are studying in college come from far i.e. nearly 2 to 3 hrs travel. The time table remains like 8.30 am to 6pm classes which is so inappropriate, even we don't get time for self study.
Bad teaching method of some professors. They just open the ppt and read it, sometimes they skip the syllabus topics, upon asking they scold us that can't we do it ourselves. On asking doubts, they instead of clearing them insult students
Students who are in different activities or societies have to face lot of insult by professors in classroom.

Course curriculum is suitable for students. The SEC ( skill enhancement) and VAC ( value addition) courses are helpful for students for their future. Which prepares well students for the real world applications. Areas of improvment are the teaching methods of professors, they should keep a polite behavior so they students can easily ask their doubts. Timings of exams are sometimes not suitable in winters it's freezing cold to go to exams in morning in December and jan months

Daulat Ram college- real life experience

Likes

Since it is a women's college, the vibe in the campus in different. It brings up a vibe of community and free expression around all the girls. Many women centric initiatives are seen in the campus like period care, skincare, self defense etc.
The campus life is enriching as DRC has many cultural clubs that are quite active. The peer group is high quality. Meals, events, keep taking place every now and then. Quite a fun experience to be in the college year around.
The course of b.com hons although rigorous, is going to help develop a strong backing for higher courses and help back you with confidence in public speaking skills, presentation skills, research and excel skills.

Dislikes

The placement opportunities if can be improved will be a great addition.
The campus is compact but now the new buildings are being built and used so it is an improvement.
The faculty should try and incorporate more with the students on a personal level.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year, the students become eligible to participate in placement. The placement cell is available in the college. But the number of placements is a little less as compared to other north campus colleges. Many companies have come for placement and internship. But many students prefer CA,CFA or other professional courses or MBA for higher studies. I plan to give CAT for MBA after my course gets over.
