Likes

The faculty is very good, and most professors are good mentors for the students
The campus has a beautiful auditorium which is great for performers like us
The canteen and eating facilities that have been provided are good

Dislikes

The entire campus has very unclean washrooms
The infrastructure overall is quite old and needs renovation
The green patches of the college can be expanded

Course Curriculum Overview

The psychology honours course at daulat ram college is quite well known and has one of the best faculty members in the entire college. The course is well up to date with international notms as well and incorpates indian perspectives

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 34000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my course is around 34000 rupees. It has increased slightly over the years and is a relatively expensive course at the university. I am unaware of the exact cost of the course for other categories, but most other courses have a fee of around 25000 on an average.

Campus Life

The college lofe at Daulat ram is good but not the best. It's lively during fests like Manjari and the music fest called Aaroh. Overall the library of the college provided good resources and is newly built.

Admission

Apart from Daulat ram, I had also applied to colleges like Lady shree raam college and Jesus and mary in Delhi university. I had also applied to other universities like Christ ghaziabad, OP jindal and Ambedkar university. I got selected in all three but chose du over the others

Faculty

Faculty to student ration for lectures is around 1:80 while for practicals it is 1:25. The exams are designed in away that most people can write them comfortably and entail the over all content of the course.

Night Life

There ia a gym near the ground of our college and provides new and functional equipment. There are a lot of food joints that suround the college so anyone looking to spend some time out of college can hang around there.

THE EXPERIENCE as of now

Placement Experience:

Being in my first year I really don't have an idea about these but the average package was around 7 lakh per annum. There's a placement cell in our college which provides information on job and internships opportunities. Furthermore this cell also organises an annual Internship and Career Fair.

Life In DRC for a Economics hons student

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placement in the third year , i.e the 5th and 6th semester...I don't really have idea about the companies visited and no of offers made but my course gets the top placement about 6lk per year

Curriculum is very old and rigid, they still teach traditional methods which lack practical knowledge and syllabus is updated really slowly. But with the introduction of SEC and VAC courses, students can now choose from a variety of skill enhancement courses and make a combination of their own.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards people become eligible for placement. Important companies are Accenture delloite etc highest package may be around 10-12lpa and average around 4-5lpa the placement rates are not that high. Many students enroll for higher education.

I was very sure to get into delhi university so the option of bhu I didn't considered when I got du but in du itself I wanted Hindu college but I got slightly less marks and I have taken admission into my college in the first round itself so I didn't got the chance for upgradation which might have been till 3rd round.
