About IISER Bhopal

Dislikes

The academic section is not lenient and not very cooperative and so it gets difficult for the students to manage everything. Although it's part of learning and gaining experiences, it comes at the cost of missing few classes.
Undertaking PhD is emphasized than placements. The academics are quite hectic as 2 quizzes and Midterm end sem exams are conducted within a span of 4 months. Students managing the events or the coordinators need to sacrifice their academics.
The security is too strict. The capping system for choosing major is not good for all the categories of students as there are lot of students with great interest in a particular subject but they can't opt for that due to CPI constraints.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The tution fee is neither too high not too low, it is more than AIIMS but less than IITs or any other private colleges. Inspire fellowships are provided. Stipend internships are not provided not any jobs which are paid are promoted for the students. Mess fees are not included in the semester fees,they are to be paid to the respective mess contractors which is an average of Rs.3000

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees is pretty nominal compared to other colleges. It is around 50K per semester excluding mess charges. There's a hike in the fees around 5k in every 4-5 years gap. The complete cost of my education will be around 5 Lacs excluding the mess fees and my personal expenditure. The mess fees is nearly around 3k in every functional mess and availing mess facility is compulsory for everyone. A number of scholarships are KVPY, INSPIRE, Gauri Mukherjee, etc.

There are no campus employment opportunities, but students do freelancing, Chegg expert answering, etc., to earn money.
