Review of NEIGRIHMS medical College

Likes

The infrastructure of NEIGRIHMS is very beautiful and up-to-date
The hostel is also very beautiful with 24hrs water & electricity
The faculties here are very interactive and skilled

Dislikes

The college is 10km away from Shillong city
There is very less shops near the campus, that too closes by 8pm
The faculties are strict about attendance and holidays are less

Admission:

For admission in any medical College including NEIGRIHMS you have to clear NEET entrance exam and have a minimum of 75% in your board exams. There is no age criteria for joining MBBS. The application from for neet is in NTA website and Neigrihms admission from is from the official website of Neigrihms. Usually the admission is an offline process it would be better if it was online. The admission fees is Rs.50k.

My college NEIGRIHMS

Likes

The study environment is very cool and calm here
The fees is also minimal so everyone could afford
There is extracurricular activities so we can have fun

Dislikes

The outside of NEIGRIHMS is not so developed
So we have to go to the main city which is very costly
The pressure in studies is also very hectic

Admission:

I took mbbs course at NEIGRIHMS for which I had to clear NEET 2022 which was very hectic as the selection ratio was very low but I managed to score 627 and I got into the college by North East quota apart from this thera are other state quotas for meghalaya nagaland mizoram arunachal... application form fees are updated in the NEIGRIHMS official website the neet exam is usually held in the March of May and it's very challenging the subject are pcb and the exam time is 3 hr 20 min overall the admission process was quite smooth but it was declared on the website very late so if it could get updated atleast before 29 days it would be better for the students

My life in NEIGRIHMS till now

Likes

The environment around the campus is very good
The cleanliness everywhere and literally no smells is there
The education here provided is very good and teaching style is amazing

Dislikes

About the less number of people came in the hospital
There is seriously languages barriers here and sometimes it's very difficult to communicate
There is less number of shops inside the campus and they should include more.

Admission:

I gave my NEET exam in 2020. In which I secured 574 marks and I got selected in NEIGRIHMS. Anyone who have physics, chemistry, biology in class 12 can gave the neet exam. Neet exam was basically a three hours exams which includes physics, chemistry and biology. Total marks is seven hundred twenty. Biology is 360 marks and the rest two subjects is 180 each. Application form is come under the internet. I took admission in NEIGRIHMS through online counseling via videos call. The examination process is very simple and good and I have no complaints about it

Pros and cons of NEIGRIHMS life

Likes

The atmosphere around the campus is really good
People here are cooperative and understanding
Faculties are always ther eto help you out no matter what

Dislikes

The strength of the batch is very less and its not that much fun
Everything here get closed by 8 so no city life
Our college is in outskirts so its very time consuming to visit the city

Admission:

I m from all india quota so for me the rank required in NEET Exam is almost 20,000 . Like for me as I got the seat from all india quota it is from nmc site.. Yes reservation is provided for those from North East India.. The NEET exam occurs once in a year and the exam is not that much difficult but the competition is cut throat.. Like the quota provided by the university to North eastern people should be less.. I think this ll be very improving

I like the student teacher ratio here in neigrihms as it is low and the faculty is able to teach all the students .. The faculties here are very supportive
The campus life... The campus has good sports facilities .. Best for sports lovers and fitness enthusiast
Cleanliness of the campus is commendable.. Both inside the hospital and outside campus

Dislikes

The sports timing isn't really ideal for the students.. It'll be good if they can extend the timing and give more time for the students to play
The pre professional university exam can't be more stressful than you can imagine... Giving two papers for one subject everyday without any gap in between.

I join this college to explore north east
Facilities provided by this college like lifts in hostels
24 hrs hot and cold water and clean washroom

Dislikes

Mess food i dislike the most uncooked chapaties
Vegetarians have to sacrifice a lot in this college
For vegetarians it is little bit tough to survive

Admission:

There are total 50 seats for MBBS out of this 8 seats are for All India Qouta I took admission from AIQ through NEET also cut off is high for AIQ And rest seats are reserved for north east states. After selecting this college u have to report and there will be medical checkup of u to see whether u are fit for this course however no one take this seriously everyone will be fit

NEIGRIHMS from the eyes of a student

Likes

Campus - It's the best in NEIGRIHMS. The views are mesmerizing.
Affordability of education - In 100000 /-we can complete our whole education. But From 2021 batch onwards the fee structure has increased dramatically.
Infrastructure and quality education - Regular classes with strict attendance maintenance. Infrastructure is also fabulous compared to other North Eastern institutions.

Dislikes

Mess food - it's the worst. And no one is there to hear our complaints.
Zomato and swiggi doesn't take order after 8pm. No canteen is there to provide food at night after our night shift duty gets over.
They don't provide adequate vacation. Even if it's there, they makes schedule of our exams just after the vacation.

Admission:

I admitted in this college under North East open category. Filled the form online. And they did an online counseling. No reservation benefit. The admission process was quite smooth I didn't have any difficulty while taking admission.

Admission is through video calling.here there is a list given separately for North East ,All india ,and nagaland,mizoram and Arunachal and also meghalaya state quota. Total 50 students are there .we need to fill up form according to date given

The environment of the college is very clean and well maintained with its serene composed atmosphere and greenery highlighting the very nature of the college in itself.
The infrastructure of the college and the campus
The facilities provided and the hostel conditions

Dislikes

The mess food which is just repeating over
The less no of patients in the out patient department
In some departments many machines are old

Admission:

The admission process is a bit hectic. It began by going to the medical unit department near the examination cell. They asked the required documents and gave the details for opting a medical examination. I had to go to different departments starting straight from the hospital main entrance. Searching the departments are a bit of complicated but the overall experience was fun. There are canteens which serve exquisite food in every floor. First I had to go to the general surgery department for checkup , then to the ophthalmology department in the 1st floor for eye checkup and then to the ENT department for ear checkup and also had to go to the blood bank and radiology department for tests and ultimate checkup was complete. All were attested to the documents and along with the challan and bond it was done with hostel allotment and mess.

My MBBS experience in Neigrihms

Likes

The faculty, the environment n friends specially the bond with some of our understanding teacher.
The hostel is amazing and no doubt it is perfect for introvert and both extrovert
The classmates n classroom, they are so fine n we are very good friend.

Dislikes

Mess food is disgusting and sometimes comes raw.
The mess fees they take around 3720 every month.
Too much to study for exam sometimes otherwise its totally fine.

Admission:

I scored 410 in neet exam through ST quota in my state nagaland. the exam was taken once a year n i got through after taking a year gap. The admission was strictly followed n it was good experience On admission many test was done like urine sample, blood drawing n etc. After that we were allowed to stay in hostel n after 2 days of my admission oriantation program started n after one week of orientation classes was taken.
