Review of NEIGRIHMS medical College

Likes

The infrastructure of NEIGRIHMS is very beautiful and up-to-date
The hostel is also very beautiful with 24hrs water & electricity
The faculties here are very interactive and skilled

Dislikes

The college is 10km away from Shillong city
There is very less shops near the campus, that too closes by 8pm
The faculties are strict about attendance and holidays are less

Internships Opportunities:

Like every other medical College after completing of MBBS course (4.5 years) one year internship is compulsory in NEIGRIHMS. The stipend during internship is Rs.30k /month. This one year internship programme is for making the students ready for the PG life and also practical application of what they have learnt till now

My life in NEIGRIHMS till now

Likes

The environment around the campus is very good
The cleanliness everywhere and literally no smells is there
The education here provided is very good and teaching style is amazing

Dislikes

About the less number of people came in the hospital
There is seriously languages barriers here and sometimes it's very difficult to communicate
There is less number of shops inside the campus and they should include more.

Internships Opportunities:

After completing your MBBS course of four years and then to go to intership of one year in the hospital. In the internship course you get a pity good amount of money and helps you a lots for serving your daily activities

I join this college to explore north east
Facilities provided by this college like lifts in hostels
24 hrs hot and cold water and clean washroom

Dislikes

Mess food i dislike the most uncooked chapaties
Vegetarians have to sacrifice a lot in this college
For vegetarians it is little bit tough to survive

Internships Opportunities:

After completing this course u can apply for JRD and since u are from this college u will be priortise and also this college has qouta for pg u can get pg seats in this college at low marks through the college qouta

Mess environment,nice atmosphere,nice scenary
Good working environment,very less workload
Nice people,located in a nice place in Adobe of clouds

Dislikes

Mess food , located far from main land city
Very cold atmosphere in winters .chilling cold
Very far from coaching centres , very difficult to travel

Internships Opportunities:

Intership here is of less workload .more opportunities to learn , in this we r exposed to many patients and new cases . internship salary is in between 26,000 to 30,000 .which is a better price in North East

Likes

The environment of the college is very clean and well maintained with its serene composed atmosphere and greenery highlighting the very nature of the college in itself.
The infrastructure of the college and the campus
The facilities provided and the hostel conditions

Dislikes

The mess food which is just repeating over
The less no of patients in the out patient department
In some departments many machines are old

Internships Opportunities:

The internship of this college is just the best. In internship u have to go to different departments according to the postings allotted and can learn a variety of things and perfect our skills . After internship you can work as Junior Resident for 6 months with a very good salary

My MBBS experience in Neigrihms

Likes

The faculty, the environment n friends specially the bond with some of our understanding teacher.
The hostel is amazing and no doubt it is perfect for introvert and both extrovert
The classmates n classroom, they are so fine n we are very good friend.

Dislikes

Mess food is disgusting and sometimes comes raw.
The mess fees they take around 3720 every month.
Too much to study for exam sometimes otherwise its totally fine.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship available is for the students who pass out from final years in the college n i don't know about the outsiders but for internship they pay them also since im a second year students i Don really have idea about the internship here.

Dislikes

Night life non existent in Shillong. We need to party, sometimes!
Student participation in inter college events

Internships Opportunities:

Compulsary 1 year rotatory internship. This is as per guidelines given by NMC for Central Medical Colleges. Externship opportunity there. Internship pays well. Tasks of an intern includes mostly paperwork with medical procedures, which is part of medical training.

Likes

The climate of shillong is the best, neither too hot nor too cold, perfect to study.
Campus life is good, no social evils, ragging, or discrimination. Importantly the campus is always clean.
Everyone can plays in the sports facilities provided.

Dislikes

Some departments do not meet the expected quality of teaching.
Clinical exposural is quite limited as compared to other colleges.
Mess has never been praise worthy despite all complains.

Internships Opportunities:

The college offers intership with a monthly payment of ?27000. There is no company or roles offered under internship. There is no projects and outcomes to clarify whatsoever as per my current knowledge

It is quite a good experience for me to fill all such details.

Likes

I like the hostel,library ,the evlnvironment ,campus etc.
I like the trips which I do with my friends.
I like all the parties which I used to do with my friends and seniors.

Dislikes

I dislike mess foods.Many times they are tasteless and unhygenic.
I dislike to go to class everyday morning 8 oclock
I dislike the bad habits of many of my friends .

Internships Opportunities:

Everyone have to do one year compulsary internship in this college.In internship we are going to learn basic skills and management stuffs and we are being given stipend of ?26000 for all this.This internship is of utmost importance for us.

The one stop guide to NEIGRIHMS

Likes

The Central library with abundant space and books
Huge campus with trees all around and well maintained
Security guards at every corner that actually do their job

Dislikes

Located a bit far from main town, roughly 10km from shillong and 4 from the nearest town
Administration doesn't really care about the food quality, some do but the results are short lived

Internships Opportunities:

The college gives internships to students who pass final year from this college. It is a 1 year internship with 30k roughly per month, includes posting in all 19 departments along with a month or rural posting in a village, few weeks of rban posting in a state hospital.

RIMS Imphal is the oldest medical institute in northeast India. NIRF 2021 has ranked the institute 43 for medical sciences. It is also the first choice for most medical aspirants. NEIGRIHMS, Shillong is the second choice for most students since it is a Central Govt. Institute. Due to high fees, AGMC, Agartala is less preferred among students.
