Course Curriculum Overview

We follow the latest curriculum given by NMC. The latest guidelines of CBME ie Competency Based Medica Education followed. Teacher to student ratio is very good, we have very good faculty in all subjects.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 1500 per year

Internships Opportunities

Compulsary 1 year rotatory internship. This is as per guidelines given by NMC for Central Medical Colleges. Externship opportunity there. Internship pays well. Tasks of an intern includes mostly paperwork with medical procedures, which is part of medical training.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure for our course is 6000 for the first year, and 1500 for subsequent years of the course. No seperate hostel fees. Mess fee 120/day, mess is managed by private firm(contract basis). No scholarship benefits as such from the college, scholarships from elsewhere approved. Residency employment benefits there.

Campus Life

Campus Life is very colorful. Highlight is the annual college festival Euphoria in September which spans one week. Other programs and activities organized by the student body NEIGRIHMS Students Council. Central Library with all the latest medical books and journals. Indoor stadiums, gym, etc. there. The swimming pool there is not functional.

Admission

Secured 586 in NEET UG, cutoff for Northeast quota(18 seats) was 572. No reservation benefits. Admission process was smooth. Found admission form for college online. Admission process was offline. No bond for rural posting. If I wish to leave course, have to pay 10 lakhs. We sit for University exam once every year. Campus is very beautiful with all necessary facilities/services.

I chose MBBS because I wanted to be the first doctor in my family. I feel happy whenever I get to interact with patients. Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculums include theory and clinics. Theory is done in the morning and clinics in the noon and practical in the afternoon. This curriculum is quite good to prepare us to become a good doctor, both in studies and in clinical practice. As the world is evolving in terms of technology, I believe there must be a more innovative way of teaching making use of all the technologies available for teaching such as PowerPoint, 3d models (real and virtual), etc. There must also be proper ventilation, cooling system, etc to help the students cope up with the weather of the college. There are 4 exams in a year which to me are too much. Besides the NEET PG exam will be MCQs so what is the point of doing objective questions and answers.

NEIGRIHMS-a heaven MBBS college in NORTH EAST

Course Curriculum Overview:

Neigrihms is a central college, its in line just after AIIMS and JIPMER alike colleges, its one the biggest and most advanced health research institute with great facilities for students and faculties to interact.Another thing that made me chose this college was the student teacher ratio. Each batch has 50 number of students.This ensures better learning and teachers could give proper attention to each and every student . Regular semester exams r undertaken which help us to go through our syllabus properly. And teachers here r very student friendly and approachable. And in this college u get more clinical exposure than any other college in north east!!

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose medicine because I love helping others. There is enough faculty for 50 students, the number of seats is likely to increase soon in the coming years. Each student is known by face and name to the teachers and so interaction is very social and good. Every semester has its exam and it was easy to pass if you are attentive in class.

Admission:

Admissions for MBBS course is via NEET UG examination. Students also must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in their higher secondary education. In general the cut off is set at 96.67% in NEET. After counseling i got admission in this college.

Remarks:

Fee structure,basic infrastructure, college administration all are best as compared to any medical college. Teaching and labs are good. There is no negative remark about this college, it's excellent in all the criteria for an ideal college.

Eligibility of the course was quite fair. It was based on NEET-UG result and quota. Application form, fees and dates were all available on the college website which could be easily looked upon. As mentioned there was a reservation benefit in terms of quota seats (for example, Northeast quota, all india quota, mizoram quota, nagaland quota, etc.) There are 4 exams total (2 internal exam, 1 pre-university, 1 professional/university exam). The exams are quite fair, and challenging. But unlike other colleges, the gap between two papers is too less. There is no gap between two papers of the same subject, and there is only one day gap between two subjects. The gaps should have been increased for better performance in the exam. To improve the admission process, there must be guides who will help the new students to do the admission process with ease and to avoid silly mistakes that occurs when students do alone by themselves....Read More
