Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculums include theory and clinics. Theory is done in the morning and clinics in the noon and practical in the afternoon. This curriculum is quite good to prepare us to become a good doctor, both in studies and in clinical practice. As the world is evolving in terms of technology, I believe there must be a more innovative way of teaching making use of all the technologies available for teaching such as PowerPoint, 3d models (real and virtual), etc. There must also be proper ventilation, cooling system, etc to help the students cope up with the weather of the college. There are 4 exams in a year which to me are too much. Besides the NEET PG exam will be MCQs so what is the point of doing objective questions and answers.
Internships Opportunities
The college offers intership with a monthly payment of ?27000. There is no company or roles offered under internship. There is no projects and outcomes to clarify whatsoever as per my current knowledge
Fees and Financial Aid
Annual fee of 16600 (which used to be only about 1500). Hostel fee is not there but mess fee of 3720 is given every month. Apart from these university exam fee of 1400 is given. No scholarship or financial support is provided from the college.
Campus Life
Annual day is celebrated on around march. Other festivals like Diwali, Christmas are also celebrated. Apart from these other programs like college week, interstate department conferences, etc are also held often. Students are made to perform in such occasions. There is a very good central Library inside the campus, rich in variety of books, providing study tables and wifi, opening from 10am to 9pm, available for all students. All books are available for all the students and can borrow also if they have the library card which can be easily got by applying form. The college offers an indoor stadium where we can play basketball and badminton but not both at the same time. There are also gym, table tennis and lawn tennis facilities available which is quite descent. But there is no football ground. There is a swimming pool which is always empty of water. Students form a neigrihms student council which manages certain wellfare of the student such as college week, intercollege tournament, etc
Hostel Facilities
One room is alloted for each student. Each room provides a bed and a matress, a table and a chair, a wall fan and a tube light and two plugs. All these facilities are free. We get breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner. The quality is not good compared to the monthly mess fee of ?3720. We get bread, tea and sometimes paratha as breakfast, dal and alu at lunch and chicken at dinner on Sunday and Wednesday and fish on Monday and Friday. Around ?1000 was paid for hostel admission, after that there is no monthly fee. It will take about ?8000 to live in a rent monthly.
Admission
Eligibility of the course was quite fair. It was based on NEET-UG result and quota. Application form, fees and dates were all available on the college website which could be easily looked upon. As mentioned there was a reservation benefit in terms of quota seats (for example, Northeast quota, all india quota, mizoram quota, nagaland quota, etc.) There are 4 exams total (2 internal exam, 1 pre-university, 1 professional/university exam). The exams are quite fair, and challenging. But unlike other colleges, the gap between two papers is too less. There is no gap between two papers of the same subject, and there is only one day gap between two subjects. The gaps should have been increased for better performance in the exam. To improve the admission process, there must be guides who will help the new students to do the admission process with ease and to avoid silly mistakes that occurs when students do alone by themselves.
