- Various big companies offering a good package comes to college every year and a good number of student get placements every year.
- A good faculty having a great mentor skills and expertise in different subjects, teachers are helpful and coordinator.
- There are not as many fests as in other colleges but we do have a good number of clubs and societies that makes college life interesting and exciting.
Dislikes
- The annual fest is very nice and happening but the regular college life is close to hell if you are an average student.
- The fines are more in this college and students faces a lot of problems
- The professors are unfriendly and sometimes very rude and not understanding. also i find them pretentious.

- SXC Kolkata is one of the oldest pedigrees in India, as it were the Britishers who started this college.
- Commerce and Economics department of our college are better than DU.
- Cut-offs are in range of mid 90s and there's no other way to get admission here.
Dislikes
- College all of a sudden has become too crowded as intake has been increased in morning college.
Placement Experience:
Many companies as SXC Kolkata is industry's favorite in Kolkata or in East India if I can say. So all the big names which operates here from Sanjeev Goenka Group to ITC to Aditiya Birla Group, all see their potential workforce in SXC.

- I liked the campus life, the welcoming faculty, good and hygienic canteen provisions, ambitious and good student crowd that will build ones motivation.
- The beautiful and uildings that add to the legacy and overall a great environment
Dislikes
- Some local students seem to have an unapproachable attitude and they seem to find it easier and more fun to hang out with their local friends that make outstation students feel distant
Placement Experience:
The students from their 3rd year become eligible for campus placement.
Different companies including the Big 4 like Deloitte KPMG etc made offers in 2024-25 and the average package offered in BCOM was 4.5 LPA.
I plan on sitting for the placements after i get my degree, that is if im not pursuing my articleship at the time.

- The college campus is huge and beautiful with different blocks like green benches, gymnasium,library and canteen
- The faculty members are very knowledgeable and experienced.The Professors use blackboards,ppts during lectures.Group discussion and healthy discussions are also encouraged
Dislikes
- Too much of discipline and rules, attendance criteria makes it hectic and exhausting for the students to be in schedule

Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is just not academics but also includes relevant group discussion and interactions which makes the course interesting.The curriculum is such as they prepare students for critical analysis.

- The faculty of the English department is really competent and nice.
- The college societies especially the ones related to dance and debating are active throughout the year and they provide recreational opportunities.
- The campus has people from around the country be it the south or northeast. So you get to talk with and explore different cultures.
Dislikes
- The campus can be a bit strict relating the dress code, especially for women.
- One is not allowed to loiter in the college. So you can't just sit in an empty classroom even if you aren't making noise.
- The administration has layers of rules and protocols for everything which can be frustrating sometimes.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum of the BA in English course is comprehensive as it convers most literary periods and important writers in the English literart canon. There is a paper on content and creative writing as well. However the course can be made more relevant with the current job market in mind.

- The library has all the books I need for study and I do not need to buy books from outside. Moreover, the online resources and journal subscriptions we have are just fantastic for research papers.
- There is a lot of exposure with reference to competitions, societies and events. We get enough scope to find our voice in some way or the other.
- The professors are absolutely fantastic with regards to approaching their syllabus.
Dislikes
- Strict attendance policy (below 75% per class student gets debarred from writing papers)
- My day batch has classes from 10:10 to 3 pm or 4 pm on half the days making it really difficult for me to devote time to other activities or attend physical internships
- I wish statistics had been included within our economics syllabus a bit earlier than teaching it from second year onwards full fledgedly. I believe computer softwares relating to data analysis should be a part of our course in each semester.
Placement Experience:
We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.

- The brand image that it carries in the city.
- It exposes us to a bunch of great like minded individuals which can be a great network.
Dislikes
- The morning batch is an only boys batch, and it is usually only engaged in sleeping
- It doesn't have a great infrastructure, and it's kinda old fashioned.
Placement Experience:
Internships are available from the very first semester.
It has a Placement Cell, which works extensively towards placements.
However, at the end of the day, it all matters in the will of the students
The package varies on the basis of your skills, cgpa, and other factors.

- The facilities are good in teaching and there behaviour is so friendly.
- All the rooms have ac and the rooms are quite big and spacious.
- Class schedules are not so heptic and manageable.
Dislikes
- College campus is not too big like other colleges.
- Sometimes the librarian behaves rudely, they provides less help to new students who don't know about anything.
- College has only one ground to play, so students can't play much.
Placement Experience:
Students from the final years only get a chance to get placement from campus.
For batch 2022-2024 last year average package was 8 LPA and highest 12 LPA.
A vast amount of 67% students got placed in last year from campus placements.
I'm actually planning to do higher studies after the degree.

- I liked the college campus, it's beautiful and clean.
- The collage library is also impressive. It's big, clean and you'll get every needed book. Also provides great study environment.
- The classrooms are fully air-conditioned and clean. It's good for attending lectures.
Dislikes
- The long stairs I not like so much. Sometimes I have climb upto 4th floor in hot.

I currently in 2nd year, so I don't have much idea about placements that college offers. But have a brief idea on the besis of the seniors. My collage provides internships, and the average package is also good. From the sixth semester one can become eligible for internships. My plan is to study further, Msc and PhD.

- Ambitious crowd. Highly ambitious, motivating people from all across India comes to study in Xavier's. This provides a perfect ground to network with such people.
- Respect. Being the 6th best college for Commerce across India, just the tag of "Xaverian" brings out a proud feeling and people also seem to value people from Xavier's more.
- Placement and internship opportunities. College provides us with ample of internship opportunities throughout all the years.
Dislikes
- ACs not available for every rooms. Only few of the rooms have air conditioner.
Placement Experience:
Internship opportunities are available for every year student. Placements are provided in the third year. 100+ companies including Big 4, banks, tech companies etc. come with placement offers. Highest package usually cross 25+ LPA and the minimum package provided is 4LPA. Students are placed after various rounds of test. Mostly there are 3 rounds of test- written exam, GD and PI.

- Our college has tremendous Discipline which i liked a lot
- The canteen food is too good and quite affordable too
- The campus is extremely neat and tidy and the washrooms are extremely clean
Dislikes
- The office staff is very rude. They do not behave well
- The professors do not clarify doubts once they have taught in the class
Course Curriculum Overview:
Well i chose sociology as i loved the subject. This discourse changed my way of viewing the world. This curriculum prepares us for real-world situations alot. Well in our college it could be a little better if they started teachong more of indian sociology other than only western sociology
