College life

Likes

The faculties of the college is very polite and approachable. They take the initiative to teach as their methods of teaching is very clear and understandable by students
The campus is kept clean and the washrooms are quiet hygienic

Dislikes

The college students cannot play in the grounds in the school hours
The college students have no access to the swimming pool

I had choosed Commerce and I'm pursuing CA right now so the syallabus is more or less the same and hence it made me choose this course. The college do give students orientation and prepare fests for us to work on our own.

My college experience

Likes

The college has a great infrastructure with a very neat and clean environment.
The professors are very nice and cooperative

Dislikes

The college is affiliated to the Calcutta University which is well known for its strict marking scheme

Placement Experience:

The college has a separate placement cell but the placements offered to students in our course are not at all related with our course. We were offered sales job in banks, and similar ones. But for the BCom students, college does provide jobs in MNCs. But if i talk about our course, the placements department wa squite a let down.

Shri shikshayatan college

Likes

Our college facilitates participation of students in co-curricular activities.
Shikshayatan looks after the interests of the students like proper maintenance of labs and other amenities.

Dislikes

Since this is a girls college, I feel that the podium of interaction gets limited sometimes.
The college faculty must look into organising an annual fest once a year which has been stopped since COVID.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'd rate my curriculum 7/10 because honestly, I believe that a bit more of practical training must be included and taught in reference to the subjects, which would prove to be useful to us in some way or the other when we are out of college.

Classes have air conditioners which help the students be cool during summers.
The college provides a lot of opportunities and open gates for many students who want to pursue anything they want

Dislikes

The college don't organise a lot of fests.
Since its a girls college it is more like a school..so don't fantasize abt the things that you see on Netflix movies.

all the classes have air conditioners...
the teaching is not very strict ..they are friendly

canteen does not have varieties of good food
the college is not regular ..they are giving many holidays

The college provided entreprenuership program which has different groups ..students can apply for any group in which they are interested ..this is a plus point for bcom students as it would help in increasing their potential in entreprenuership.

The department faculty for English Masters.
The college offers a lot of placement opportunities

Dislikes

The canteen is a bit on the expensive side.
The office times are not always punctual

Overview of shri Shikshayatan college

Likes

The study is awesome here. All the faculty are best in their own way. The environment is very studious also they have several clubs and societies mostly led by the study council but under the guidance of some mentor.
Equal and fair opportunities are given for participation in the events held by college. Also entry to societies and clubs are mot restricted or corrupted. There are several tech fest and business presentation happening for personality development.

Dislikes

The college lacks conducting fests and program on large scale.its just restricted to a college room. Also there are not much functions happening for entertainment.
The sports facilities isn't that great. The college needs to have a proper group and equipment so that students who have the capability can nurture their talent and bring medals for the college by proper practicing.

The curriculum is well established it gives us the idea of the outside world practically also the faculty members completes the syllabus on time mostly. There are a few parts left over which they cover up by sending pdfs or notes into the college groups.

Likes

there are many placement opportunities for placement in this college. This include campuss recruitment, internship, networking event etc.
The faculties members are good. they always help you and guide you related to career

Dislikes

management are not good. they keep delaying the work
whether things get done or not, they always demand fees on time and impose fine in final year

Placement Experience:

our college shri shikshayatan provides many placement opportunities. you need to be active in whatsapp group or email. many big firm like TATA, deloitte, hdfc bank, icici bank, some ca firms come to our college for placement. they take some exam and interviews for job. they provide approx rs.3,00,000 package. you should do intership with studies or at least take part in NSS or LTS type social work which help to build networing. If no campus placement then your previous experience will help to get job or you go for MBA that accelerate your career
