The department faculty for English Masters.
The college offers a lot of placement opportunities

Dislikes

The canteen is a bit on the expensive side.
The office times are not always punctual

Course Curriculum Overview

The college has a lot of co curriculum opportunities and also has new computers for spoken and verbal co curriculum. The teachers are really nice and helpful and the exams are pretty decent and doable.

Class Size: 1100Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Its 25000 per semester for four semester so the total course fee is 100000 INR. All people in our batch are the same and there are government scholarships available but none from the college itself. The fee is all inclusive.

Campus Life

There are a lot of fun fests and annual festivals which students can take part in. The library is very equipped and well lit with a variety of collectuon. The library also has internet and computers for use to students. They have sports activities and also student run groups for several activities.

Admission

I chose this college because it was the best one i could get with my scores at graduation. I got at several other colleges but i chose this one because of the different opportunities provided and the reputation of the faculty. The admission is solely based on graduation grades

The faculty to student ratio for masters in english is around 60:1 which is pretty good. I loved Baidehi Ma'am and Tamoghna Ma'am. Infact every professior is very helpful to the students. The exams come in four semesters and four internals respectively.

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

My Experience as an MA Graduate in Jadavpur University

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for camous placemens from the third semester onwards. Companies that have visited the Departmet of Comparative Literature witth campus placements offers are SVF, Hoichoi, Radio Mirchi, Papertrue, LearningMate, among others. Highest package offered by companies is 8.5 LPA Percentage of students getting placements is 85% My plans after getting my MA degree is to go for a PhD.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.

Good for studying but should improve for recruitment

The application form is available on the college website and every other detail regarding fees and application date is available there.
