Even for the poor people, in such a way that when the students graduate and secure a job, they can repay the money.

My Life at Marian

Marian college has a very good infrastructure. College also provide a strong Wi-Fi network in the whole campus with a high speed internet
The library of Marian college is well maintained and available of all kinds of books. Each and every genre of books mainly for study purpose and also for other readings are available in the library

Dislikes

The college is situated in a rural area which cause a problem of lack of some needs
As kuttikkanam is a tourist place and is full of cold climate it may be difficult for some because of the cold climate.

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for placements in Marian college from the third year of their degree. Students with 70% of marks in the semester exams without any supplies can apply for placements. Top companies like Tata, EY, Infosys, KPMG, MRF, deloitte etc come for placements in Marian college. The highest package of placement in BBA department of Marian college is of 16 lakhs per annum. Every year 90% of the final year students of every degree courses in Marian college get placed in top companies.

Serene yet troubled above the hills

Likes

Eco friendly environment , the campus is really clean and they try to keep it as organic as possible
Buildings , labs etc are well equipped with all kinda of facilities

Dislikes

The college is run by a Christian management and that puts a lot barriers and rules that may seem too much for a lot people
Doesn't encourage culturals in a bigger level

Placement Experience:

Placements here are varying , it all depends on the time we live in and the market that's present .if there are a shortage of employment, college gets affected, otherwise there are good opportunities to prosper. It's one of best colleges to give our placements in Kerala

Basic Information on Marian College Kuttikkanam Autonomous

Likes

The college being situated in Kuttikkanam, is always covered in mist and fog, it's got cold mornings and evenings, the climate is very mesmerizing, and there are many places to visit near by the college. It's a great place to be at
We have got good faculty that helps in shaping ourselves for the future. Their expertise at time may seem difficult to understand at the moment but in the long run it helps a lot.

Dislikes

The college keeps increasing the fees every year there is no stability and when increasing the fees they don't consult with the students or parents.When fees increases it is not just one aspect that increases, all sorts of fees increases.
There is too many rules to follow in hostels especially for girls, at times it seems very uncessary

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements as soon as 5th semester starts.The college also keeps any external faculty for ensuring that students are capable enough to pass the aptitude test of the companies. It is part of 5th sem as a non credit course to learn aptitude and pass the exam of aptitude, to pass 5th sem. To be eligible for placements you need to have above 60% together in all of the previous semesters,All big 4 companies come here for placements and the salary package is also good considering freshers, the average is 3 lakh per annum.Other companies include Federal Bank, Godrej etc. The placementcell of Marian College Kuttikkanam is very good.

The area where the college is situated is good .
The college conducts variety of programmes and cultural events.

Dislikes

As it is an autonomous college, teachers are very strict.
The climate there may not be suitable for everyone

The course curriculum is made in a good way. Even the students from other UG courses can even gain an idea from the course in the first semester. The exams are conducted every semester and internal exams twice in each semester.

Social work UG in Marian

The area where the college is located is good
The college has holiday on every saturdays

Dislikes

Things i disliked can be said as the autonomy of teachers and management in taking decisions
BSW is an undervalued course in the college

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum deals with the basic knowledge of Social work. The course deals with basics like the introduction to social work , psychology, sociology and all. There is also field work in each semester which will be sent from the college itself to different agencies. The faculties can be only rated average as there is no experienced faculties. The exams are conducted semester wise and internals twice in each semester.

Best College and campus. Nice climate all facilities available in college and hostel.
Good campus placements and Aptitused traing

Placement Experience:

UG students fifth semester are to conduct the Aptitude training and the sixth semester is available. PG students Third-semester available Aptitude test and fourth semester all student have placements. Internships are also available.

Marian college campus, the campus is a beauty and have many areas for study purpose.
OBE system which challenge students to have a practical learning environment

Dislikes

The collge being in a hill station have various limitations regarding certain materials
Home sickness being a hosteller i feel a need to visit home every now and then

Social life- the social life in the college is great with great bounding amongs students of various departments.
Campus atmosphere- the campus atmosphere is absolute bliss with the climate complimenting the college. The collge campus is active till 8.

Dislikes

The place is a remote area and all the essential elements won’t be available in short time.

Placement Experience:

The college provides placement opportunities and has an active placement cell. The various companies that provide placement cells include Asianet, Surya, Radio Mango, and many more. The previous batch of students most of them got placed other than students who opted for studies.
