The course has lots of media-related subjects and there are media-proficient people who come and teach the class. The course faculty is also very educated people with a great experience in the media field.

The college department has a mandatory 3 internship policy and one internship was on last semester. My internship was with the Kairali news channel. The internship opportunity was a great experience and I had an experience in the field of journalism.

Placement Experience

The college offers good placement. The college placement is conducted by various departments and our department has college placements from Asianet and Surya. The college provides internships from where we can placed in a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite less than the regular communication courses. The campus offers many scholarships and financial assistance to many people who are from hard financial backgrounds. The college also provides stipend jobs for the students inside the campus.

Campus Life

The college has a great social life, with good student life and an active campus life. The college also has very active clubs for various activities like dance, music, reading clubs and many more. The college also conducts sports meet and all.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel also is a great place to meet people from various backgrounds and have contacts. The hostel can be registered during the admission process. The food menu has a timetable and that could change according to the menu changes.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

The admission process has 2 stages. The admission stages are an entrance exam and a personal interview. The entrance exam has media-related questions and other skill-testing activities. The personal interview was conducted by high officials of the department.

Likes

Qualified Faculties: Almost all of them are temporary staff which increases the quality of the class
Department Library facility : There is a separate section for each department reference books inside the library
Indoor Stadium: Useful for morning workouts etc

Dislikes

Swimming pools were not allowed for every students
Libraries will be only working till 6:00pm.
Lack of opportunities in field of extra curricular activities

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually the syllabus is much concentrated on kerala history and heritage studies part. So this will enrich the ideas about museums, different archaeological sites in kerala,and also field visits are there as part of the course which will increse your practical knowledge as well as theoratical part.

Likes

Infrastructure of the institution is very good
The faculties are very good and they will help in many ways
The composition of the institution is nice, because of the representation of almost all states of the country.

Dislikes

The food provided in the hostel mess is not that much good
The fees structure is complex and we have to pay more than 25000 for a pg even it is a govt. Institution
The hierarchy is very complex and there are many posts unnecessarily

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm studying public administration and public policy and the scope of the course is less. Public policy has some scope but when it comes to public administration there is no scope. The placement is also less.

Remarks:

The college's atmosphere is very good for the studies and every student feels comfortable inside the campus. A proper facility of every needful material is provided by the college authority. Every staff is cooperative and education quality of the college is up to a very specific mark.

Arts college in all around

Remarks:

Best college in tvm to pursue MA english in tvm. Better than other two famous colleges in Tvm central. Govt arts college stand out with an equillibrium maintained both in academics and other fields. Last year the first two ranks in MA English in kerala university is received by my seniors.

The college is not that much good. The principal of the college is the most worst thing in that college. He is an uneducated idiot who have an arregent behaviour. The college teaching staff are also not that much good. Most of them are not eligible yo trach in a college.

Remarks:

I did an MA in literature from the Sree Sankara College. It was a pretty awesome two years, which went by just like that. I really miss all those days where it was about learning and exploring. The academics and quality of teaching are good.

Everything is postive about the college. The college chief officer mr kk or Krishna kumar is an awesome person who understands the needs of the students. He is so soft spoken and spiritual that he can enlighten students with just his calm demeanor and happy voice. Great man with a calm personality.

My Marian Journey

Applied to- SJCC Bengaluru, Christ University Bengaluru, Jain University Bengaluru. Got accepted into both Christ and Jain but since i was a waitlisted candidate in their institute, I had already joined Marian so that i dont have a delay in my curriculum. The main reason for not choosing Christ or Jain was also due to the fees structure, I had a brief understanding of the fees structure and living expense in posh cities hence why i chose Marian and also for the particular reason being it my home state. Didnt get rejected from SJCC, but got a call from them to join on sports quota basis since i was an athelete in school. I was unable to make the tryouts since i was injured.
