Course Curriculum Overview
Since i posses great communcation and leadership skills i believed choosing BBA was the best option for me as i could develop my skills practically as well as theoretically. The curriculum gets updated almost every 2 years, the syllabus is up to date to meet industry standards and to assist students in their academic fortune. Suggestions for improving this course would be adding optional subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Digital Marketing for students which is a handy skill in the field of business and marketing. Frequency of exams begin 1 month after a new semester starts, the internal exams are held first, followed by the Semester End exam at the end of the semester, Difficulty level is moderate.
Placement Experience
Students from 5th semester are eligible for campus placements. EY,Delloite,Accenture, TCS, GICE, Sutherland have visited and highest offer was from Delloite for 6.5LPA, followed by Accenture- 3.3LPA, EY- 3.15LPA, and the remaining companies offered an average package of 2.75LPA. Highest package- Delloite- only for proffesional studies students of Bcom(CA,ACCA)- 6.5LPA. Average package- 2.75LPA. I am uncertain of the exact number but around 65% of students have been placed in companies from my course. After getting the degree i plan to work for a few years and complete my MBA from a prestigious institute.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearly fees for each course is almost the same just a small difference. Students who scored low marks in grade 12 are put into the management list and students who scored more than 85% in grade 12 are put into the merit list. Students in merit list need to pay only 10,000 rupees as fees every semester the remaining fees is funded by the kerala government. Students in management list need to pay 18,000 every odd semester and 23000 every even semester. Hostel fees comes out to an average of 40,000 including laundry fees of 8000 per year if you opt for it and mess fees of 4950 every month for hostelers. When it comes to exam fees, there is an exam registeration fee of 600. Apart from this, there is an fee of 220 for for Administrative expenses and application expenses. Rs130 for each exam subject, Rs160 for lab, Rs160 for seminar, Rs160 for viva-voice, Rs160 for internship and Rs260 for projects. There are other optional fees like if you choose to purchase a gym membership then it comes to rs 250 every month. Multiple Scholarship programs available for students, merit scholarships amounts are distributed on the students marks as follows: 75% and below 85%-500, 85% and below 95%-750 and 95%-100%-1500. Other scholarship fees such as families earning under 2lacs per annum are awarded scholarships. Students who dont have 1 parent are allocated scholarships. So from my experience being a 3rd year, i have noticed that there is an increase in fees for everything but its worth it since this college is accredited with NAAC A++ rank.
Campus Life
Annual fests is Caligo which is held every year in between september to november depending upon the climate since the climate could be harsh. It is the biggest even of the college and involves lots of games and cultural programs, dance, music events etc. Almost all books and journals are accessible in the library Smartboard along with ICT tools are provided in each classroom. All sports activities are available along with the designated court and equipment to play with, extracurricular activites include Industrial Visits, and Outreach programs. 10+ clubs are present at Marian ranging from marketing all the way to nature club.

Hostel fees is around 30,000-35,000 depending upon which room you select and an optional fees of 8000 rs per year for laundry. No option to rent a room or PG outside campus except for day scholar students.
Admission
Applied to- SJCC Bengaluru, Christ University Bengaluru, Jain University Bengaluru. Got accepted into both Christ and Jain but since i was a waitlisted candidate in their institute, I had already joined Marian so that i dont have a delay in my curriculum. The main reason for not choosing Christ or Jain was also due to the fees structure, I had a brief understanding of the fees structure and living expense in posh cities hence why i chose Marian and also for the particular reason being it my home state. Didnt get rejected from SJCC, but got a call from them to join on sports quota basis since i was an athelete in school. I was unable to make the tryouts since i was injured. Marians admission process- After submitting the required documents to the admission cell, you need to meet the respective Head of Department of your selected course and a Personal Interview will be taken. No written test/exam for entry
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is good, friendly staff and approachable. Disciplined schedules for each event or program. Exams are moderate, not too difficult or easy. If you've studied well then it will be easy to score decent grades. In a class of 60 atleast 7-8 students fail in atleast 1 subject. Course curriculum is pretty relevant, we recently had 2 courses update the syllabus to enhance academic growth.
Interview Experience
Questions asked in Personal Interview were- Why choose Marian? Why choose BBA? What skills do you posses? And some basic accounting and economic principles from Grade 12, and few current affairs questions. Procedure is quite easy you just need to be confident in your answers. Grade 10 and 12 marks are quite important if you are looking for merit list admission. Since i was applying to various colleges at the time i had developed a good base of common questions and was able to answer them quite easily.
Night Life
College is open only till 530 pm, hence all students are required to either go home or be present in the hostels. But there are so many tourists spots that can be visited by students." Gym, cafeteria, libraries are all available inside the campus. One of the bests spots to chill with friends is paatumaram in the campus as well as the cafeteria. Late night activites are non existent except for hostellers, During the afternoon once classes are over, places like pine forest, panchalimedu etc are great spots to visit.
