Basic Information on Marian College Kuttikkanam Autonomous

The college follows outcome based education, which means we don't follow exactly how the university prepares the curriculum, our teachers have the power to change their subjects syllabus according to how they want it to be, so the faculties often change the syllabus to involve current needs which will help students in future. The syllabus is always updating and changes almost every year.The syllabus helps to understand real world problems and exams are in a case study formate. The exams each semester is 4 in total, in the beginning it might seem as a lot, but once you get the hang of it it becomes easier.

Students become eligible for placements as soon as 5th semester starts.The college also keeps any external faculty for ensuring that students are capable enough to pass the aptitude test of the companies. It is part of 5th sem as a non credit course to learn aptitude and pass the exam of aptitude, to pass 5th sem. To be eligible for placements you need to have above 60% together in all of the previous semesters,All big 4 companies come here for placements and the salary package is also good considering freshers, the average is 3 lakh per annum.Other companies include Federal Bank, Godrej etc. The placementcell of Marian College Kuttikkanam is very good.

BBA department at Marian College Kuttikkanam is split into two sections Adided and Self Financing. Students in the Adided section will have much less fees than those in the self financing Getting into the Adided section is not that difficult if you have above 90% in state board or above 85% in CBSE you can apply for aided.I am in the aided section therefore my fees for just the course in one year would be Rs 10000, I am not sure about the fees for self financing section. The college also provides various scholarships for the students, they have a separate administration for helping students with scholarship.

Marian College is very vibrant every other day ther will be some programme or the other. The students council is a huge part of the college to ensure all programs are conducted well. Some of the main programs at the college include Onam, Caligo ( program by MBA) , and Christmass.Every two months or so there will be programs or events, where all students participate to make each event lively. The infrastructure facilities of the college is very good, we have got classrooms with smart boards, and library is equipped with all kinds of study books, and novels, the library also has got computers for those doing research, plagiarism detector, group discussion rooms and so on. The college offers participation in various sports events such as football and kickboxing these are the two main sports teams at college. Other sports events are there which is usually seen during sports day. The college has around 13 clubs conducting activities,students can join these clubs as per there interests.

At Marian you can choose the type of room you want there is four sharing room - non attached ( you will use the common washroom there won't be washroom in the room), four sharing attached ( premium), three sharing -non attached, three sharing-attached( premium). Premium four sharing and premium 3 sharing which is not attached with washroom, premium means the new building which is just bulit. Then there is dormitory where around 6 -12 students will be accommodated this is non attached.The fees for each type of room is different it rangees from 21000- 30000 annually. The mees fees currently is Rs4750 per month, the food is good compared to other colleges, daily non veg is provided, except Friday. Laundry service is Rs 8000 annually. Students cannot avail a pg or room outside the college premises, it is not advised especially for girls.

The admission process of the college is very simple, you just need to vist the college official site, and you will be directed from the site. The registration fees is not high. Also the application process is simple and clear. If you provide all right details in the application process, it's likely that the college will call you. You will need 60-65% above marks to be eligible to apply for courses at Marian College Kuttikkanam

The faculty in the Adided section has more experience and is more strict and less approachable, whereas the faculty in the Self Financing section has less experience and is more friendly with the students. The teaching methods are just the same as any other college.At times most of the assignments are handed to us as presentation of the syllabus to be covered, so basically the class is taken by students and the faculty would ensure if what is said is right or wrong. The exam structure as per old syllabus, I don't know about the new syllabus that is 4 year degree programme. I come under the 3 year one, so we have total 4 exams in one sem,3 internals and one sem. First internal is for a total of 5 marks, Second and third for 7.5 marks. Then there is 2 assignment marks each for 7.5 marks. Then semester exam is for 60 marks.The exams are not difficult to pass, the college follows outcome based education, once you understand the outcome of each module you will be able to answer the question
