This course is a great course and has various opportunities for students who are hoping to get into the media field. The faculties are well qualified and helpful in all ways. The media department has great facilities. The exams are held on time.

Internships Opportunities

The internship opportunity that I have got is to be part of an intern company. It was a great opportunity as I got to know about the detailed idea of the PR and their various clients. The internship lasted for 1 month and got a lifetime opportunity because of the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarship facilities. The sem fee per sem is around Rs40,000 and it decreases and increases depending upon each semester. There are also other expenses such as going to film festivals and it has a great opportunity for media students.

There is a great infrastructure for the college and the students will have a great opportunity if they are utilising it. The college gives priority to fests and sports. Also, there are various club activities for the college and each student from the class will be part of it.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel life is pretty good and the food is of great quality. Hostels are also affordable there is also a laundry facility and playing area. Each room will have classmates and the rooms are pretty good. The rooms have storage areas where they can store their belongings.

Hostel Fee: INR 25000 per year

Admission

There was an interview and entrance exam for the application process. The entrance was based on general knowledge, there were application-level questions and the professors took the interview based on the interests.

they do offer placements for both ug and pg. But For Pg Structured palcements are limited. For Pg students, especially in commerce and management placement oppartunites are offered. Companies like Federal Bank, Deloitte mostly offered. Since we had no placements, iam focusing currently on content creation and writing, actively working with online media due to my creative interest.

Course curriculum is great and it helps us to prepare for the real world applications and also for the further academic pursuits.By the materials for the syllabus were most not available so it was so difficult for us to prepare for the exams and also the faculty face it so hard to teach us without proper materials.Also the face difficulty in the question level as we are forced to write the exams without proper materials.Our exams were not properly conducted they have published the exam date all of a sudden eventhough we studied semester wise they conducted exams yearly and 1&2 semester together it had us so hard to prepare for exams.Also our valuation was not properly done so only fews percentage of the students were only passed in the exams.The carelessness of the authorities spoiled life of many students like us.

Remarks:

In comparison to other colleges the exam system and academic system are going great. Exams are conducted on time. But the semester is 6 months and it has 3 exams (2 internal and 1 semester exam) the workload is heavy.

My Marian Journey

Applied to- SJCC Bengaluru, Christ University Bengaluru, Jain University Bengaluru. Got accepted into both Christ and Jain but since i was a waitlisted candidate in their institute, I had already joined Marian so that i dont have a delay in my curriculum. The main reason for not choosing Christ or Jain was also due to the fees structure, I had a brief understanding of the fees structure and living expense in posh cities hence why i chose Marian and also for the particular reason being it my home state. Didnt get rejected from SJCC, but got a call from them to join on sports quota basis since i was an athelete in school. I was unable to make the tryouts since i was injured. Marians admission process- After submitting the required documents to the admission cell, you need to meet the respective Head of Department of your selected course and a Personal Interview will be taken.
