Remarks :

I did an MA in literature from the Sree Sankara College. It was a pretty awesome two years, which went by just like that. I really miss all those days where it was about learning and exploring. The academics and quality of teaching are good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

From a critical literature review to the in depth analysis of the western language, our course structure included both modern English and ancient English literature. The library is filled with books from various disciplines, and you can even rent them at very nominal prices.

College Events :

Participating in the NSS and NCC activities was a great honor for us. We are thankful to our college for providing us with such an opportunity. There were many workshops and symposiums being organized in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Our college was run by the state, hence the fee structure was pretty basic which was 3000 Rs. only. I was exempted from even that since I was the topper of my batch.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The scholarship options are available for the meritorious students and students from economically weaker backgrounds. Our college offers many e-grants to the deserving candidates.

Campus Life :

The campus has a dense green cover, which gives us a feeling about the "Gurukula" type of learning. The greatest advantage of the college is the freedom imparted to the students, we were free to bunk classes and stretchy tea breaks provided as time to find time for enjoying our youthful days. All the cultural events were good and had a lot of interesting performances. If you are career-oriented. I would say that the college teaches its students to be successful in life. Most of the programs are conducted by students itself, and moreover, there are elections for leaders, this gives a glimpse of democracy.

Admission :

The seat allotment is conducted by the Mahatma Gandhi University. Admission is entirely based on your academic record.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well constructed and organised which is very helpful for the preparation of many competitive examinations. The exams are difficult and also delayed, results aren't announced in time. Teaching methods are good and are applicable in the real world

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus they provide are above average. But the implementation in terms of time provided to cover the syllabus is also average. Exams come in a rush and the time allowed is less when compared to the vast syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Literature is something I loved since schooling. I remember going to school library and reading a lot of Shakespeare's novels and other books. I always admired world of Shakespeare. My interest in books and literature made me choose English literature. When I was searching for a good college, a lot of people suggested Nehru College which had the best faculties of English. College was a bit far from home but I decided to give it a try which was worth it. I had the best experience in nehru. The curriculum evaluation makes sure that all the objectives required for a student is fulfilled. They make sure that the students are getting the best possible way of learning. Also they give us insights about the further studies. Along with academics, the faculties make sure that they prepare us for various competitive exams like UGC NET. The only area where the literature students face stress is exams. The paper is very lengthy that students find it difficult to complete the exam on time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus is very well structured, because it is structured as same as the NET examination syllabus also. So it's very useful for the students. Also they cover every chapter in the syllabus on time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good faculty and availability of museum and library, more than academics the college and course provides extra benefits such as communication skills, personal development etc.. Teaching method is still the old school method were teachers spoon feeds the students it must be limited and self teaching methods should be encouraged more, there the sem exams will be 2:30 hrs and those are more subjective and extra papers included languages like Hindi , Malayalam,Tamil, English.(it's according to institutions)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although this course was taken with great interest, the need for improvement was realized during the course. There was no continuation of what was studied in each semester. The curriculum should be improved and an updated syllabus should be included. Exams are conducted at regular intervals. There is a growing need to improve the teachers because being a government college it seems that in many cases the teachers are not doing their job and the class is progressing only through seminars and presentations. At the same time, it has been possible to get to know the scholars and gain a lot of knowledge through some of their classes
