BSW is an undervalued course in the college

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum deals with the basic knowledge of Social work. The course deals with basics like the introduction to social work , psychology, sociology and all. There is also field work in each semester which will be sent from the college itself to different agencies. The faculties can be only rated average as there is no experienced faculties. The exams are conducted semester wise and internals twice in each semester.

Class Size : 30Course Fees : INR 11000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

The internship in the college is done in each semester. According to each semester the students will be sent to Medical setting, community setting and all. The agencies for field work will be determined by them and will be mostly near to the college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As i was in aided categary , in which there is both aided and self finance batches , i had only a fees of nearly 5500 per semester or 11000 per year. The hostel fees is seperate as each ones needs. For self finance courses it was about 20000 per sem, which is 40000.per year

Campus Life :

Overally saying the BSW course here is u dervalued and is not seen upto other UG courses. Even the Social work department is not given much importance. But several programmers are conducted in the college and the students can enjoy their campus life after noon when the classes are over.

Admission :

The admission can be done through online mode. The application can be downloaded from the college website and it should be filled and applied with an application fees of 650 rs during my admission process. The rest contacts will be done either through online mode or through phone calls from the college. There can even be interview for the admission.

Placement Experience:

In the third year, students become eligible for placements (my degree was a three year degree, it might be different when it becomes a four year degree). Interested students are given training for interviews, GDs and job selection processes by the placement cell in the college. I had not applied for placement, so I don't know the details of the salary package.

The course BSW (bachelor of social work) is a opportunitable course. The scope of the course is mostly based on the PG course MSW (masters of social work) / scope in outside of India eg: Canada , UK , Australia etc. I think college should provide more internships outside of Kerala Exam timings vary all the time(irregular)
