Is the CMAT College Predictor Accurate?

Although the CMAT College Predictor 2025 can give you a very close approximation of eligible colleges according to your CMAT score, this predictor is not accurate to 100%. Therefore, your admission to a certain college is primarily determined by the following factors:

  • Cut-off Trends: Cut-offs fluctuate with every other year. This depends entirely on how difficult the exam was this time, the number of applicants, and the availability of seats.
  • Category Reservation: If you are applying under specific reservation, then your chances might be different.
  • Other Eligibility Criteria: Apart from the CMAT score, colleges may consider other parameters like past academic performance, group discussions, personal interviews, and work experience.
  • Seat Availability: The number of seats available for the particular program you're interested in can also play a role.

How much is the 95 percentile in CMAT?

There is no fixed score that can guarantee a 95+ percentile as these figures vary almost every year due to the overall statistics and the exam difficulty level. However, to give an estimate based on previous years’ score vs percentile analysis, we can say that a 95 percentile in CMAT would be possible in the score range of 250-260.

Is 70 percentile good in CMAT?

A score of 70 percentile in the Common Management Admission Test is below average. According to data from previous years, the score of about 190 marks represents the 70th percentile. To put this into perspective:

  • A score of 250 marks normally puts the candidate at around the 90th percentile
  • A score of 340 marks or more places the candidate at the 100th percentile

Therefore, a 70 percentile shows that your performance is below the median as compared to other test-takers. For getting the admission into some of the best management institutes in the country, it is desirable to aim at a higher percentile.
