NIT Sikkim Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

If you are capable enough you will be getting decent placements, Overall placement statistics lies about 80-90% with an average pacakage of 9-10 lacs per annum including 90-95% for CSE, ECE. EEE and almost 80-85% for core branches like Mechanical and Civil. Some of major past recruiters are CDAC, CDOT, BEL, VEDANTA, DELOITTE, MAHINDRA, MARUTI SUZUKI, UKG, GENPACT, BPCL, L&T, ALSTOM, NVIDIA, MICROSOFT, SLB, TERADATA, CGI and many others. Highest pacakage for the batch of 2023-24 was 44 LPA by NVIDIA and average was around 9.95 LPA. From start of the 7th semesters , the students can register themselves for placements and from 5th semester onwards student can register themselves for internship opputunities. NIT Sikkim also provide opportunities of highes studies like PhD from reputed institutes like IIT Hyderabad, IIT Delhi and some other prominent institutions as well.

After 5th semester, the college has on-campus internship options and after during 7th semester, you will be eligible to sit for campus placements. Many companies come for campus placement including IBM, NVIDIA, Deloitte, etc. PLacements for CSE, ECE, and EEE are very good. In 2023 highest placement was from EEE of 44 lakhs from NVIDIA. In Mechanical most of the students get PPO. For Civil, very least options are available. Usually, 80% of students get placed every year.

JEE Mains, one of the toughest exams in the country was required to be qualified by me, to secure my seat. I worked hard to crack it and got admission here. It took some time for the verification of documents and then I had to pay the fee. My documents included class 10th and 12th scorecards, character certificates, SOP, internship certificates, and financial documents.

Every year 25-32 students pursue this course and the 44-55% students placed every year from the mechanical branch and this percentage is increasing every year and highest package and the lowest package was 10lpa and 5 LPA, College provides 100% internship to all students, and L&T is the top recruiting company here. Roles offered here is an automotive engineer and construction engineer

In the 3rd year or 5th-semester student is eligible for placement on campus there are many of the biggest company visits for placement like L&T. Here placement package of a student is approx 7,00,000 per annum. Approx 75% of students get placement per year.

college placement in our college is good almost approx 90%. cs and ece are good in the internship because many companies come in our college for cs and ece there is some problem for core branch in out 30 students almost 5-6 student get an internship but if you want internship from core branch then you should learn some coding subject and get admission.

If you're getting NIT SIKKIM, it's probably because you're no good to be in better NIT and have the last option but to stay here. So at my counselling, it was the college I got through my OBC rank which was around 28k.

First negative point is that our institute does not have permanent campus. And second faculty and infrastructure is not that good. Lot of rains also in time of monsoon season. Our campus connectivity is also very bad, no nearby railway station or any airport
