National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand, also known as NIT Uttarakhand or NIT UK, is a government-funded institution established in 2009. Keep expectations very low

Likes

First and foremost thing I like is the weather and view of the surroundings
The college is close to many beautiful places like valley of flowers, kedarnath, badrinath, haridwar, gangotri etc
Stunning view of Alakananda river which flows just besides the college

Dislikes

No permanent campus. It is a temporary campus but the permanent campus is being built
Food is average but what I heard is that they improved the food quality
Transportation is bit difficult after haridwar

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

The course curriculum is same as the other Nits.The first year consists common subjects for all branches.The core subjects starts from 2nd year. You have to complete 160 credits in these four year course. There are less pratical settings. There are no proper usage of clubs.

What are the placement opportunities in the college and highest package?

Students are eligible for placements after 6th semester. Samsung, cicsco, optym, accenture etc will visit the campus for every year. Highest - 16 lakhs (this year) Average - 9 lakhs 30 to 40 % will be placed. Mostly I want to do a job in a company.

Various fest, clubs and sports of the college

Tech or annual fests are rare in this college. If conducted there are small scale. There is a library in college. You can all course related books in that. The classrooms are provided with projectors and ac's. There are only few grounds for sports activities but the interested students are selected to the inter Nit competition. There are some clubs like culture, adventure, sports, photography etc but there are not fully active

On-campus living facilities

The hostels are good because there were new. Each room consists of three beds, three cupboards, fans lights, ethernet connections and balcony. The food is below average ( I would say worst at some point of time but what I heard is the food quality is slightly improved) Registration is simple. There are many rentals near the campus. If you don't like mess food or you can manage your food it's better to stay outside.

Faculty and examination pattern of the college

The faculty strength is being declined over the years because of the transportation facilities Faculty ratio - 1:20 I am from CSE , so liked kamal who is good at data structures,ai , data science I don't want to name them but their teaching is straight from the book and they don't go deep into the subject There are two mid semester exams(mid 1 and mid2) and end term. The difficult depends on the lecturer whose teaching the subject.Most of the subjects are is easy to pass but maintaining the grade is bit difficult.Around 2 to 4 fail to clear the exams

Admission process and eligibility criteria of the college

Even though the college is not good at Nirf rankings, it has good placements. I choose this college for the placements and good environment. I rejected Iiit guwahati because I thought Nit has greater preference for placements and less fees. You have jee mains for the eligibility and the cutoff is around 20000(general) for this college.

Night Life

There is gym which is opened most of the time, one all in one canteen and a library. The campus is shared between government polytechnic and Nit. There is no restriction for boys about hostel in timings but girls have to be in hostel before 9 pm. There are hangout places inside the campus but there are some points outside the campus like Alakananda river view point. The locality is safe but there were times leopards have appeared in the surroundings.

First and foremost thing I like is the weather and view of the surroundings
The college is close to many beautiful places like valley of flowers, kedarnath, badrinath, haridwar, gangotri etc

All about NIT Uttarakhand

Likes

There is less hectic schedule for CSE branch, there is very less college pressure so you have a lot of time to explore different opportunities.
There are less distractions in Srinagar like there are no clubs and all, so you can focus on your studies better and also the environment here is good and clean.

Dislikes

There is no permanent campus like other NITs of IITs.
College schedule is hectic for ECE and EEE branch, you will have not much time for other activities.

Admission:

I chose this college because i have the state quota for this state(Uttarakhand). I expect to get CS here but unfortunately i got ECE.Also a tag is NIT will be benificial if future. In comparision to other NITs this college doesn't have its own campus which is bad (college life sucks here). Placement were decent in online time(2021 - 2022) but now the placements are becoming worst. For CSE branch it is decent but for other branches its very poor. Admission process is same like other NITs (Jossa Counselling).

Admission:

To get addmission in our college JEE Main is the only way you need to qualify the exam and get the minimum criteria marks to get addmission in my college. The criteria is decided my the nta. I didn't applied in any other collage.

Every year there is a trip to badrinath and kedarnath from college side no added fee.

Dislikes

College need to word on alumni connections.

Admission:

I applied for this college and selected here in electronics branch. I have less percentile that the reason i got rejected from other colleges. My admission is from Josaa counselling as same as in other Nits.

The beautiful city and its market gives us a perfect vibe

Dislikes

Infrastructure is still in making mode that I sworse
Labs and classes runs at different places
Again location because after 6 pm you can't go to different palces

Admission:

The biggest mistake I did was after cekaring jee I put this College on my very first choice and I don't have any option left for this so I feel I had proper knowledge I would never choose this College

Club are quite active and perform all type of activity
Labs facilities is too good all types of machines is available

Dislikes

Campus is not permanent soo to much probleydue to stay in polytechnic campus

Admission:

The eligibility criteria is to get 75%mark in class 12th board exam and have to qualify jee entrance exam with approx. 94percentile aur more for civil course. There is reservation for sc st obc and ews also home state quota is available. The website should improved.

Overview of NIT Uttarakhand Electronic branch

Likes

Students. Moreover due to overall less strength of college,students also know almost every other student and it is very beneficial for students social life.Those who love to travel there are a lot of places nearby as college is situated in mountains

Dislikes

Campus of college is very small so you are in loss on campus basis and won't have a late night campus life. Town is small so most of famous brands like KFC, Dominos are not available and the town even lacks a movie theatre

Admission:

Admission are only done onthe basis of Joint entrance examination (mains).you need a sufficiently good percentile to take admission if you belong to general category There is 50% reservation for home state students And other reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC and girls

In 2022 when I write the jee exam ,I avail the cse brach because I get 95 percentile and as well as having the home state benefits. The only aspect whivh I don't liked was the category wise cutoffs only

You should qualify jee mains with 90 + percentile for general, and80 for OBC 40-45 for sc, 20-25 for ST You can find form on NTA website jee mains, Jee mains 2 chance in 1 year, jee advanced one time in a year

Our campus infrastructure is not as much good as other nits has
Transportation issues from haridwar to our college is not as much good specially at evening time due to hilly area

Admission process was really easy , professor's were really co-operative and told us how to fill all the required details It took only almost 2 hours in the entire process . It is alloted through counseling of Jee mains examination

Which one is better-NIT Uttarakhand or NIT Meghalaya?

The choice generally depends on the certain individual and what he prefers. Both of these institutes started in the same year. They are both new NITs so they come with their fair share of pros and cons.

One of my friends did his Master’s from NIT Meghalaya. According to him, it still has a lot to work on and improve, be it their infrastructure, research grants, etc.
The permanent campus is under construction.
The Electrical Engineering department has better-equipped labs than the other departments.
If you are willing to pursue a Master’s program then it is recommended you opt for any other college rather than the two mentioned.

In order to secure admission to NIT Uttarakhand B.Tech., there is only one entrance examination accepted which is JEE Mains. The expected cutoff required for admission to B.Tech. are given below according to the specialisations:
