Course Curriculum Overview

3

Most Courses are relevant execpt some courses specially in first year(like chemistry, engineering drawing but they are compulsory subjects in mostly all colleges in india). Curriculum just covers the syllabus you have to do the hard work and gather resources by yourself. If you want to do something and want to grab a good placement or internship. In teaching methods some teachers are very strict they don't care about what you have written just care about your handwriting specially in labs. You just have to write files although we perform experiments which is good thing but in lab manuals everyone just copies . We have 3 exams 2 mid term(20 marks each)and 1 end term (40-50 marks) exams and usually 2 test (10 marks each) In one semester. Difficulty level depends on the teacher eho is taking your classes. Same with the marking.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

You get enough time to go intership or to work on your skill . After first year and second year you have 2 month of break which you utilise for intership or to improve your skills. And during 6th,7th,8th semester you can do 4-6 month intership . Because of small strength you can get easily selected for interships in IIT's and can also get stipends if you are myech and phd student.

Placement Experience

4

Most Students grab placement after 7th semester as far as in know. Many companies visit our campus some of them are samsung , L&T, Mahindra&Mahindra ,etc. All sre available at nituk website. Placement percentage of btech was around 80 percent. I think i will start a startup during or after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is not that high. You can easily see the fee details on nituk website. It is around 90k for tution fee and 30k hostel and mess combined fee. You get 2/3rd relaxation in tution fee if you income is less than 5lakh per annum and if you income is below 1 lakh per annum you only have to pay for hostel fee. Other than this you can apply for different scholarships (govt or private) which can easily cover your hostel fee also.Phd and some mtech students also get monthly stipend for teaching or assisting teachers in labs. I heard the get around 30-40k per month not sure .

Campus Life

0.5

No campus life. If you want a big campus don't come here. We only have a cricket ground which we share with locals. If you think you will get good sport facilities forget that. Fest are usually small level because our college have strength of around 720 students. You can easily get selected in clubs and for inter Nit and MST tournaments because of small strength of our college.

Hostel Facilities

2

In hostel 3 students share 1 room. In first year hostel condition is very poor for boys . No washing maching, clogged washrooms. Meal quality is poor the only avg thing they make is breakfast. Hostel fee is around 30k /sem . You register for hostel during your admission process and later during fee payment. Hostel of seniors are good because they are built recently. Every room have balcony in seniors hostel.

Admission

Admission is through is jee mains entrance exam and counselling is conducted through csab and josaa. You can give jee 2 times a year in January and April.Best result is considered from these two attempts and counselling is based on that result. First Josaa conducts counselling around August .It have 6 rounds in which you have to fill us your prefered colleges in list priority wise. If you are allotted a seat than you have to pay seat acceptance fee or have to exit from that round. Than after 1 or 2 week csab special rounds comes. It have 2 special rounds just like josaa and you are allotted the left seats of the colleges which vomes under this counselling.IIT's don't participate in csab round.I had obc reservation so i got in Nit Uk with 97.57 percentile.

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh Group of Colleges - [CGC] Jhanjeri | Computer science

Because of Nit was definitely a better choice.Better placements, better fee strusture.
