Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

Likes

As it is one of the premier college of country it has world class faculty
Our college has big and Green campus and all campus is hygienic and clean
Social life is good , like our seniors are so helpful and friendly and there is no ragging in our college.

Dislikes

Our college has open campus so there is much more traffic.
Infrastructure need to be developed as it is a technical college
Girls boy ratio should be increased and female faculty also need to increases

Among all IITs our college stand third in terms of placement and in campus placement almost all get placed with having 22 LPA as average packege and with 2.20 CR as highest package. In campus placement around 300 companies including multinational companies recruite students for job

Good Campus and Infrastructure and it is also located on the bank of River ganga I love it most
Well equipped labs and high quality of digital library
Acadmics is also good and well educated professors

our area of campus is very large. our campus life is very good. campus is lush green and diverse. there are so many sports for student.
the faculty of our college is highly qualified and mostly graduated from IIT. there are two major library for student. college structure is very old and look like a prestigious institute.
in the college there is a separate placement and training cell for student . there are many club to explore other skill for student.

Dislikes

some of the buildings of our college is not well maintained.
college campus is open for all student . there are no separate campus for student.
there is allowances of two wheeler vehicles that cause pollution in college.

after 4th semester student are eligible for intership and after 6 semester student are eligible for placement for betch degree.for dual degree student are eligible for placment in 9th semester. there are many companies that offered placement for student as like microsoft,flipkart,amazon,apple,zepto,Infosys, ICICI bank,and many other companies.hightest package of our college is 2.22 crore in the present year and the average package of college is 22 lakh. there are 1128 offered made in this year.about 80-85% student are geeting placement in each year.

Girls are good in this college and nice and friendly
social oppurtunities are good in this and i get good oppurtunitites

infrastructure is not that good and useless

8th semester are eligible for campus placements and the name of the companies are Mckinzey, google , microsoft, golamann sachhs, wells fargo etc. Highest package:1.65CPA Average package:25LPA Mtech is the plan after getting a degree.

The Helping nature of the employees who work in my hostel , they help us a lot.
The campus is clean compared to the outside of the campus.
The lecturers are helpful and teach very good and they are very much qualified.

Dislikes

The infrastucture of the college is too old and obselete compared to other IITs
The food here is tasteless and sometimes the breakfast is not that good.
The college hostel building is old here .

Placement Experience:

after 7th semester the students are open for campus placements and after 5th semester for intership oppurtunities. name of the companies: Goldmann sachhs ,Mckinzey, Google, Microsoft, wipro etc. highest package:1.63CPA aaverage package:25LPA In my branch About 88% overall about 80% I want to do an MTECH IN EEE.

Academics are very very good in IIT BHU.
All the clubs are very active and very good...
Sports facilities are also very good....

Dislikes

Infrastructure is a very old, many of the machinaries are old too
Hostels rooms are also very very small...

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester only the students are placement ready as internships are offered... The placements in my college are very very very good honestly, in 2024 IIT BHU was 2nd all over India in terms of Placements and all According to NIRF rankings... Even if the college doesn't provide it.. I guess the students are placement ready anyways.

Academic excellence: The proffesors at IIT BHU are highly approachable and with knowledgable ,makes topics easier to grasps.Their interactive teaching methods are helpful for the students to ensure robust foundation for both practical and theoritical
Career Oppurtunities:The placement cell effectively connects students with top tier recruiters offering excellent packages.The strong alumni network provides strong guidance to the students ,ensuring the students are well prepared for career path
Campus Life:The technical and cultural fests create a lively and engaging environment.Active participation in the competitions increases connection and build dtrong friendships and enhances interpersonal skills

Dislikes

Infrastructure:While IIT BHU is improving still some aspects like old IIT BHU hostel need facilities like the new hostels present here.Upgarding these areas would enhance the campus experience better

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from their 7th semester onward.Companies like Google,Microsoft,and goldman Sachs visits offering a range of profiles.The highest package recently was 1.65cr with average 25 LPA.About 90% of eligible students secure placements.For those who do not,options include entrepreneurship or civil service,higher studies.My plan is to pursue a career in software development or data science .

Mesmerizing and Beautiful Campus and Placement

It has an overall good coding culture and good extracurricular activities
It has very good placements and almost everyone will get placed if he is serious enough with a salary of minimum 7LPA. Maximum salsry can go as high as 1.65 Cr PA or more. Average salary for circuital branch is around 20 LPA+
Seniors are very approachable and helpful and many wellness and Student Services are also provided in the college to help student overcome their difficulties. Online mentorship for YourDost platform is also provded free of cost.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is a bit old, although new equipments are been installed everywhere, but right now infrastructure gives a dull vibe.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT BHU are a huge success. IIT BHU offers strong placement opportunites with a high placement percentage (would say almost everyone will be placed if they are serious for their placements, and even start late). Placement generally begins in the 7th semester. This year 220+ people get PPO (pre-placement offers), and most of the masss got placed in first 5 days of placement interview in Decemer (around 900 including PPOs). We saw a huge diversity in companies that visitts the campus placements, Google, DeShaw, Oracle, Microsoft, Flipkart, Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Walmart, OLA, Zomato, Uber, Groww, PhonePe, Sprinklr are a few of them (total 250+ companies and profiles). Placement stats have improved a lot from past year recession period. TPRs are very friendly and supportive and theere is a strict action against cheating in placements (which may include debarrement from placements phase 1). Major profiles are Software, DA/DS, Business/Consulting, Product. Highest (excluding PPOs) - DE Shaw 70 LPA, and Databricks 68 LPA for software profiles. Pce Stock Broking 75 LPA Average package here is around 20-30 LPA. 10 - 20 % companies : 7-12 LPA. 40 - 50 % companies : 13 - 21 LPA. 30 - 40 % compaies : 22 - 40 LPA. 10 % companies : 45 + LPA Percentage of students getting placed - last year was recession so there were 12-15 % student overall unplaced This year I see companies are coming in very huge amount, and around 900+ (right now 1000) students already placed. I would predict that 20 % students will remain unplaced after 1st phase of placement that will end by December 2024. And after 2nd phase maybe 4-5% students will remain unplaced. My plans, since already placed at SLB, will work 2-3 years in the company. Then will switch to Microsoft or Amazon.

Your Dream College in Holy City Varanasi

The very first thing about my college is that it has a wide alumni network that expands in different field
The Course Curriculum is also not that much hectic although it is hard

Dislikes

I will not say i actually dislike the things rather I would say the Campus Infrastructure can be improved like it not that much modern
The hostel consists of 3 persons in a Room which again can be improved by construction of new hostels

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Branch you are taking as your major mainly decides which course you are going to study during your B.tech but in IITs seeing the new developments and research we have the options of choosing the courses from other departments in form of open electives and yes here there is so much learning that comes from your college peers and learn much more from them. The development I see can be done in the areas where we are still getting taught the subjects that are not relevant in today's world and the teaching methods can be made more interactive by having a relaxed grading format and good competition among students. The exams are mainly held two times a semester like one as Midterms and other as Endterm and in between we get the Quizzes and Lab exams.

the avegare placement of iit bhu in 2023 is 22.77 lakh per annum . The companies visiting our campus are google , microsoft , amazon , flipkart , etc . The percentage of palcement was 90 percent . in third semester students becomes eligible for internships

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

What are the views of IIT-BHU students about Kashi Utkarsh?

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
