The campus here is quite green, more than other IITs. Also the faculty member here are quite supportive and help the students to get their concept and doubts cleared. Also there is Vishwanath Temple within the campus which i feel is great as now .

Dislikes

Campus area is quite large but IIT bhu has open campus becauss of which somtimes its quite problematic to travel with cycle. Also IIT campus is merged with bhu campus so there is no distinction on the IIT as individual.
The hostel room provided to first year students is small when three students are shating the room.

I choose this course because I had interest in mathematics and this couse also provides the combination of computer science and mathematics.Faculty here are highly cooperative.Each semester in divided into mid sem and end sem.

A small jist of my campus

Campus interviews .Even corer students can sit for software jobs
class times are good and are not at all hectic.
Clubs and sports. There are many of these, one can join according to his interests

Dislikes

old hostel but the new ones are being built so its just a matter of time( 1st and 2nd yr are good)
Mess food , even having meals may not be your daily routine sometimes.
Classrooms in summer are a bit hard to adjust due to the absence of ACs.

Placement Experience:

Highest package this year was 1.68cr and the least was 12.5lk per anum. mostly all the students get placed. 3rd year students will have internships and from 7,8th sem colleage placements will start. Software companies are more here and the core companies comiing here are decling( by a slow rste though) as the person of core can sit in for software interview and at the end of the day he will have an offer letter of both software and core and asusual software companies will give more salary so core companies offer will be left and so are they declining.

It is open campus which is which is most and safe and no secure
In hostels there is no basic need like a good food rooms cleaning etc

Likes

I like the environment, which give us better feel to study.
We have clubs, 29 sports and big playgrounds to play .
In our college events and fests take place regularly and curriculum is flexible.

Dislikes

Our campus is open to everyone, there is no restriction for outsiders.
Our college is built in 20th century so that we dont have modern infrastructure, which attracts this generation students.
Facilities in the hostel rooms are to be improved.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good obviously in circuital branches. If we choose software jobs, we can find good opurtunities. Core side placements are very less. In 3rd semester we get internships, for B-Tech students 4rth year students are eligible for placements whereas for IDD students in 5th they are eligible for placements. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Google, Amazon etc... A total of 200 companies come for recruiting students. This year Highest package is around 1.68core and average is around 1300000LPA. Nearly 80% of the students are getting placements and rhe left 20% of the students are willing to do their post graduation.

I did not like the fact that the campus is an open campus.
Quite a few incidents of theft have been reported in various places around the campus especially at the Vishwanath Temple.
Classes in the winter are scheduled too early in the morning when going to lecture theatres becomes difficult due to fog and mist.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Even though currently I am only in the 2nd sem,I have found all the teachers I have come across as quite friendly,helpful and wise.I had chosen this course as I am quite interested in understanding the creation and devepopment of the huge structures like dams,skyscrapers and bridges.The midsem and endsem exams were wrapped in about 5months time with about 2 and a half months gap between each.Among all the subjects' papers the MA101(Maths) papers were the toughest.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.
