One of my senior got placed in Couch Base for 34LPA CTC another got placed in Unilever for 42LPA but this was for CSE and related branches while few of my seniors got decent package from mechanical branch too 8-12L in companies like Mercedes a Euler ~ Anonymous, B.Tech
FFCS. A study who is facing difficulty to study more, can take less number of credits and it will reduce the burden of the students. And the student can also Complete the entire course in 4 years instead of 5years by taking maximum no of credits. ~ Supriya R Patil, B.Sc + M.Sc
Campus Life in Vit is simply magnificent. All types of facilities are provided inside the campus including sport complex and restaurants. The girls to boys ratio in Mechanical engineering is surprisinly high of about 1:7. ~ Mithilesh Angal, B.Tech
The campus is green and well maintained and all sports faculities are available but they are paid
You will make friends from all over the country so a great place to make networks
If a student is serious about studies ,Vit is the place for them
Dislikes
The intake is very high so the campus is always crowded and there is lot of competition
There are more than 3500 students in cse alone so not a very good place for cs students
The college is very money oriented and the most strict campus in india
Placement Experience:
Vit though has a lot of intake it magically gives placement to all the students, though not desired package but will definately get you placed somewhere. VIT makes the process of off camps placement very tedious as they want a 100% placement
Diverse culture: Here the students are literally from all the corners of India. So you get very diverse culture to explore.
9 pointer advantage: If your CGPA is above 9 then you don't have to attend classes. Like the 75% criteria will not applicable on you.
FFCS: The FFCS is fully fixable course selection in which we can design our time-table and can choose the faculty to whom we want to study.
Dislikes
Over-Crowding : The intake of VIT is extremally high if I talk about my batch in 2021 batch there are approx. 7500 student present. Hence the campus is so much crowded.
High-Competition: Because of high in-take the competition also increases in thing like hostel-selection, placement ,etc.
Extra Ordinary Restrictions: In campus we have so much restrictions to follow , in-time of boys is 9 pm and for girls it's 8:30 PM which they follow so strictly. there are PDA guards also.
Student Snaps:
Placement Experience:
Placement in the college is good as all the student who seeks placement gets the placement either from big-tech companies or by mass recruiting.
The placement is divided into four categories: Marquee offers (above 20 lakhs), Super Dream package (above 10 lakhs), Dream package (above 7-8 lakhs), and Mass-recruitment.
The people you meet, lot of diverse people from different regions of India and even different countries
Infrastructure is very good and well maintained
The environment of the campus is amazing
Dislikes
The cramed up schedules of exams and assignments
The response of VIT administration to problems faced by students
The overall fees structure for the college and hostel
Placement Experience:
After the 6th semester, students start their preparations for placements and they happen in the 7th Sem as well as the 8th. Top companies like Google, Amazon, TCS, Apple, and Blackrock do come to campus for placements. At least 60% of students do get placed by the university. Very good packages do come in but for very few numbered people.
The faculty in the campus are helping and very kind.
Dislikes
The hostel room can be more cleaner and washed more often.
The mess food can get improved and the menus changes very week.
The travel cost is to high to travel inside the city.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The faculty members are highly distinguished professionals in their respective fields. I choose this course as the future is based on data science and computer engineering. The term exam was difficult and if you concentrate in class it should be easy.
The culture here is good and people are very educated
Everyone speaks in english and it’s good for personality development
Dislikes
The admission process or the category based admissions is what makes other colleges better than vit
We don’t get as many holidays as we should
Placement Experience:
Placements in computer science are very good with an average package of around 12-13 lakhs and the highest of 1.2 crore. Most of the students get placed with good packages. I plan to study data science from foreign universities
The sheer number of students that makes it hard to stand out from the crowd.
Placement Experience:
After the 6th semester(3rd year) the placements start. Many companies including companies like Microsoft come here. However most students are mass placed in companies like TCS. The packages can range from 3 LPA to 20 LPA depending on your course, skills and CGPA. Though there are some who got up to 40 LPA they are the exceptions not the rule.
Placements in the college are really good like for example even if you have an average overall performance you can still get placed with a significantly higher package than you are normally expected to. More than 70% students are placed.
The campus life is too good here. You get to know different people from different places around India.
The university has outstanding infrastructure with all the facilities required.
There are different slots, you can either choose morning classes or afternoon classes, its up to you.
Dislikes
FFCS, which might be very unfavourable to students sometimes
The hostel counselling process is a bit complicated since its based on ur CGPA
The population is rising every year. But they are trying to expand more and they building many blocks for it
Placement Experience:
The placements are excellents here. From the 7th semester the students are eligible for campus placements. There are many companies that visited VIT. For eg Microsoft, google, amazon and indian companies like Wipro, Zoho, etc. The average package offered by vit is 8 lakhks per annum. The placement percentage of students is from 70 to 80 percent.
The campus at VIT is very pleasent providing us a good environment for studying
The faculty here are very approachable and gives us with a lot of opportunities
The college has a very good placement record, so we go out with flying colors
Placement Experience:
The college has a great placement record, almost every student from CSE gets placed. The average package for CSE is somewhere around 8 lakhs. The highest package was 1.02 cr. Also, there is a significant amount of students choosing to go for higher studies.
Internship oppurtunities provided to us by the campus
campus placement opportunities are good.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose computer science with a specialization in information security because I was interested in cybersecurity. Faculty-student ratio is pretty decent and all the faculties have a Doctor of Philosophy in their respective domains.
