Iit ropar offers a great range of scholarship opportunities for students.
The placement opportunities are very good here even in core branches it is good
I liked the campus first of all, its so beautiful . the four pillars at the entry is the main attraction of campus

Dislikes

There are no air conditioning system in hostels leading to problems in summer
They did scam as they converted the single rooms to double rooms this is really bad as they took fesss they it is to promote bonding but this is a piece of shit
Mess food is not so good here it is not tasty

Life At IIT Ropar

Likes

The club culture is very good. One can easily find clubs for any of his hobbies.
The campus is very large and green. The infrastructure is good as compared to other IITs.
Hostels are in better condition as compared to hostels of old IITs.

Dislikes

The academic stress remains usually high so we need to maintain balance between studies and fun.
The location of campus. Nearest market from campus is roughly 8 km and there are not much spots to hangout with friends.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Branch Mathematics and Computing deals with maths and also computer science. The integration of these two is really helpful if you plan to go in AI or ML in future. This was the main reason I opted for this course. Though the academic stress remains quite high but one can balance between fun and studies. The exams are very frequently taken, we can't have a sigh of relief for more than a month. The level of exams too remains on a bit tougher side.

Truths about IIT Ropar

Likes

The Infrastructure of the campus. The entry gate of the campus is very beautiful
The labs Have Advanced technology But in some labs The instruments do not work.
The sports facilities Are quite good. The grounds are big and we have grounds for each and every sport

Dislikes

Most of the professors here are not willing to Teach They have high qualifications.
The mess food here was not good at all.But after the new system The food is eatable
The hostel room space here is not enough for 2 people But.You have to adjust.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is almost the same as in 20 years. It is not getting updated, unlike the DTU and nsut institutions. But the courses are good and if someone wants to learn he can take these courses seriously. We have 2 quizzes and one mid-term and one end-term.

The infrastructure and the greenery and cleanliness
All hostels don't seem old . And all facilities are there in the hostel
All type of food are available which you can enjoy

Dislikes

The professors seem a bit less concerned of how the students are doing. They rather focus on their syllabus
Mess food quality is not that good as the food is made in large quantity it's quality degrades
Load of studies can be seen on students as they have to complete assignments on time

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are decent. They are also growing day by day. We get a avg package of about 2.5 lakhs . Nowadays there is a decline in placements but it is expected to rise in upcoming years as the college grows day by day

IIT ROPAR LIFE

Likes

The infrastructure of college is modern attracting the students.
There are highly advanced equipment's in labs which are imported from german
There are great sports facilities giving an extra edge to the college

Dislikes

There are no air conditioning system in hostels leading to problems in summer
There is no great facility which connect the clg to city
The college area is very huge so it is difficult to go from one space ro other

Like today is world of computer and there are several fields for computer in which i can persue my career. Like i am interested in doing b.tech in computer so i opted for cse. The exams are after every 2 months .

Likes

The infrastructure is good and the faculty is well qualified.

Dislikes

The teaching style is slightly old and not up to date.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course covers the topic in-depth and clears your concept about that topic. The teaching method might seem old to you but you have to deal with it. The faculties are helpful. Exams happen every 2 months and the difficulty level is decent.

Advanced Building and blocks for research and study
highly advanced equipment for research .

Dislikes

college is far away from city and any urban area.
lack of inteaction with seniors that student must get.

Placement Experience:

After completionof third year student can start applying for placements . There is a special placement cell that invite companies for campus placement like google , facebook, microsoft etc. And hishest package as I know is 84 lpa this year. And almost 96 percent student get placement. If not they can later apply for job .

IIT ROPAR college review

Likes

The campus life is very good and lively.
The faculty is very good and highly qualified.
College conducts various fests every year.

Dislikes

The food quality in mess can be improved.
There is no air conditioners in hostels.

Placement Experience:

Our college provides very good on campus placements. The average package of CSE dept. is around 28 lpa. Almost 100% students get placed from CSE dept each year. The highest package is 65lpa in campus.

IIT Ropar- A place to grow

Likes

I like the fast food shops available inside the campus and the canteen of the campus very much
The greenery of the campus is mesmerising to me
The campus is really washed with 500 acres of land

Dislikes

Less number of trees at the walking paths does making it hard to walk in summers
The number of eataways are still less And so they have monopoly
Campus is pretty far away from the city Does making it hard to Roam around the campus

Placement Experience:

Our institute provides placement opportunities from seventh semester Every placement season around ninety percent students get placed from campus itself with an average package of twenty lakhs and highest package may range between fifty lakhs to seventy lakhs. I plan on pursuing a corporate carrier after my degree.

Likes

I liked the campus and infrastructure here.
The club activities and sports facilities.
The library and it's comfort zone and easy to access.

Dislikes

Mess food is not so good here It is not tasty
The badminton court is not available in the new campus
Swimming is not in the sports activities of the college

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Almost All students from computer science and engineering and mathematics and computing and artificial intelligence and data science got placed. And all other branches also have good placements.
