This is a compulsory residential program, and hence, it is compulsory to live on campus in hostels. There are 10 boys' hostels and 5 girls' hostels, each with a capacity of more than 100 individuals. All the rooms are single occupancy, and everyday maintenance of the rooms is done by the cleaning staff. The rooms have all the basic requirements, a bed, and mattress, an almirah with lock, chair, table, shelves, bunks, etc. All the hostels have security guards 24*7, and hence, it is extremely safe inside the campus. Each floor has 2 clean washrooms and 1 water cooler/water purifier. There are a total of 3 messes each with a dining capacity of 150 individuals at a time. The food quality is average and it is in the form of an all-you-can-eat buffet. The mess menu is decided by the students' run mess committee on a fortnightly basis. The cleanliness in the mess is top quality and constant checks are made for the same. The registration process for the hostel and mess is automatic.

Hostels are really good here. No sharing, 1 room for 1 person. Water quality is not that good in hostels and mess facilities are not also very good. The registration process is not very difficult here since it's a residential program, and everyone is allotted hostel.

Every student is given a separate room. There are a total of 18 Student Residences at IIM Indore. Each one has the required facilities like a washing machine, dryer, pantry area, etc. The meal is served 3 times (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) with an external vendor appointed by the college. There is ample variety of cuisines served but the quality is not that great (it's hostel food after all). It is a residential program so all the students have to opt for the Hostel and Mess services.

There are almost 18 student residents and a separate resident for FPM students in IIM Indore. The participants of the first there years of the IPM live in one hostel sharing rooms with each other. The participants of PGP, PGP-HRM, and 4th-5th year of IPM are given a separate room in different student residents. There are three floors in each hostel and 3 washrooms on each floor. The rooms are not very big but they have enough space, every room has a window also. There is a facility for hot water and electricity for 24 hours and room cleaning. The rooms are also provided with a large closet with a mirror attached. The menu of the mess varies across the week ranging from north Indian, south Indian, Chinese, etc. Although the quality of food is not very good, it is one of the reasons why most second-year student opts out of the mess. The mess provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner only. The participants have to pay for evening snacks.
There total 5-6 hostels to stay. All are great for living. There is single occupancy in both first and second year. Male and female hostel are separated. Bathroom and other facilities are up to the mark.
Living in the hostel is mandatory. Students will get a sharing room (3 people per room) for the first three years, and single room accommodation will be provided for the last two years. At IIM Ahmedabad, there are no restrictions on hostel timings, clothing, or entry of the opposite gender. Without any restrictions, all students are free to leave and return to campus whenever they want.
There are no restrictions on what students can wear anywhere on campus, including in class. The only exception to this rule is that students should dress formally for company presentations.
Students have complete freedom to visit the other gender's hostels whenever they want. Many of my friends had, for all practical purposes, shifted to their girlfriends' hostel rooms and were rarely seen in their own hostels. IIM Ahmedabad gives its students a lot of freedom and believes in the spirit of personal responsibility.
All IIM Indore students, including female students, are permitted to leave campus. There are campus buses that leave at regular intervals. One can also book their own transportation. The only restriction is that everyone must return by 11:30 pm unless there is a valid reason to be outside, such as a late-night flight.
The hostels at IIM Indore keep changing over the years you spend in the college. Initially the first-year students are provided double occupancy rooms with the same gender. After the first year, single-occupancy rooms are made available
The basic amenities include
Only mattresses are provided while the rest of the bedding is to be arranged by the inmates only.
There are no attached bathrooms and about 5 to 8 rooms share one set of bathrooms which comprises two commodes, two bathrooms, and two wash basins.
The hostels do not have washing machines, however, there is a laundromat, as well as the services of an on-campus washerman, are available for a nominal price.
You are not allowed to bring your own electrical or electronic appliances like air coolers, refrigerators, individual TV sets, etc. You cannot bring your own vehicle also except for bicycles.
As far as the campus is concerned, classrooms are well-equipped and the campus has multiple mess and food joints, grocery store, medical center and medicine shop, fruits and vegetable store, washerman, barber, bank, post-office, ATMs, courier dispatch and delivery, photocopy and print shops, gyms and sports centers, and even two temples.
The lack of anything more than basic aims at facilitating a basic lifestyle at the hostel and not a lavish one.
The PGP Hostels at IIM Indore offer single rooms in separate blocks for boys and girls. Each room has a bed, a large wardrobe with a mirror, one or two chairs, a table, and plenty of storage shelf space. Washrooms are plentiful, but not on every floor. Rooms also have LAN ports. Daily cleaning of the rooms is performed.
Fans are adequate because the weather is pleasant during the monsoons and very cold during the winter. Views of the campus are an added bonus depending on the location of the room.
The classrooms at IIM Indore are both large and air-conditioned. They typically seat 75 to 80 students. Classrooms are outfitted with speakers and biometric attendance systems in addition to the standard blackboard and projector system.
I have a few friends from IIM Indore and I learned about the hostel accommodation, on-campus through them.
As mentioned by my friends, the girls from their first three IPM years are given to stay at a recently established Student Residence 10, also known as SR - 16. It is in front of the cricket stadium.
On the other hand, the girls from both IPM fourth and fifth years stay with the PGPs in the SR 11 - 14. The hostel is adjacent to the SR - 18, i.e. the IPM Boys Hostel.
Apart from the hostel curfew, everything is great at the IPM hostels of IIM Indore. The hostels have all the necessary facilities. You’ll get used to the hostel life, and learn to manage everything on your own. You’ll make lifelong friends, and live some of the best years of your student life. Living away from home will make you more independent and self confident.
Both the hostels as well as campus at IIM Indore are really beautiful. But you will not get the time to enjoy it if you are really focused on your studies.
Hostels at IIM Indor are 10-15 blocks named alphabetically. Each block has 3-4 floors and each floor has 4 common washroom facilities. Some blocks are old while some are relatively new with better facilities. You don’t get to choose your hostel rather its chosen through a chit system.
So the hostels at IIM Indore are decked with amazing facilities and will make your stay memorable and comfortable.

It is a tiring course, however. There is a lot of diversity in the IPM course. It also has a Student Activity Council (SAC). Its function is to organize events for the students in various domains. It is also in charge of conducting other activities and festivals on the campus and also acts as a bridge between IPM and IIM Indore.
