My primary and only consideration for choosing IIM Indore was the placement scenario which caused me to choose it over NITs which I was getting through JEE Mains. I had got confirmed admission in NIT Bhopal. A lot of people have been asking me about the placement scenario of IPM students at IIM Indore, and the common question encountered was 'Why haven't you given CAT?' The easy answer is 'I am not eligible for it.' The eligibility for CAT requires graduation in any discipline. As I am an 18 year old student who has just passed out 12th, how would I give CAT. Second thing is CAT selection criterion is such that you require 4 years of engineering from NIT or IIT, then 2 years of work experience and then 2 years PGP at IIM, which would take 8 years to pass from IIM, while I would be getting placement through IPM just after 3 years, which would be an internship of 2-3 months wherein the average stipend per month goes ~~ 2 lakh per month, after that if best match of the company-employee is found, you can get a PPO(PPOs for IPM have avg placement of *36.5* lakh per year at IIMI) or else you can sit in campus placements along with the PGP folks(who give *CAT*) wherein the avg placement goes nearly 30-35 lakhs per year. The IPM students have relevant coursework in management which causes them to beg better placements than the PGP peers. The IPM students get best placements in Investment banking, risk management, and strategy , management consulting(the top firms being *Goldman Sachs, Ambit capital, jpmc, Morgan Stanley, and cherry on the top being *BCG, BCN, EY, Arthur D Little and other consulting firms* as well as the top placements in GenMan and marketing are also begged by them, the average placements when you see the consolidated report of 2023, you will see 32.2 LPA which is taken after taking average of students across PGP and IPM as they are placed together and get the same opportunities, IPM being preferred over engineers by many firms including the ones named above. As I am a part of the process now and have been researching through a lot before selecting IIM Indore over the IITs, I know IIM Indore IPM students have better average and median placements as compared to the PGP ones. Now those people who ask might also be able to answer.... Why I and 90000+ students like me aspire for IIM Indore every year. But top 150 candidates get a chance to be in the college(who have 95+ percent in 10th 12th board exams, exceptional state, national level extra curriculars as well as 99+%ile in the IPMAT entrance.) I am sure that those 150 are exempted from CAT because of luck some may say or because they are *exceptional* . As exceptions exist *I will never give CAT and beg better placements than those who will clear it*

IIM Indore- A glimpse

Admission:

I appeared for NEET-UG and scored a rank good enough for a government medical college. However, I choose IPM at IIM Indore because it is a well reputed institute, the programme has a good placement record, and as I like to learn a lot of things and the course is diverse, it seems like a great fit. This college has an entrance test, IPMAT which shortlists some candidates based on sectional cutoffs. These candidates then go through an interview process and are then selected for the programme.

U need to have a bachlour degree for this course you can find the application form and fee structure and application dates on theri website iimi indore. No reservation provided by them and I'm also from general category. The exam structure based on semester wise and level is very good according to other many of colleges. IIM Indore - Review

The admission process is through CAT. You can fill the form for all the IIMs you want to apply for on the same portal. I secured 98.66 percentile in 2021 and received a PI from IIM I. The criteria for PI calls also gave major weightage to 10th and 12th percentage.

Entrance was through CAT, pretty easy to crack. I got 98+ without any preparation. All the details are available in the CAT website, with a common application process for all IIMS. I did not have any reservarion process. CAT cutoff for our batch was close to 97.5 on an average.

Yes to get into any of the IIM we have to appear in the CAT exam. thus I appeared in CAT'22 and got a 92.36 percentile. being belonged from the reserved category i.e. OBC I was able to get into after clearing the ig waitlist. the eligibility of the PGP curriculum is to be graduated in any discipline. the application form for the CAT exam will be filled through online mode only. as I elonged from the reserved category I was able to secure admission into iim indore as the cutoff for the same will be lower than general. the admission process is like first you have to get clear the cut-off and then the gdpi calls should be made once you cleared the same you will be admitted into the college.

The IPM Entrance Exam involves a lot of Studying and Practicing because over 30,000 students take it, and the number is rising every year.

IIM Indore IPM Interview checks if you're a Good fit for the Program. The Interview is usually Tough but also Clear and Direct. In the interview, first they ask about you, like your Hobbies and Interests. Your hobbies and interests are important, and they ask questions about them to see how much you know about your favorite subjects or activities.

Is it worth joining IIM Indore?

You have ABCL FMS, don't join Indore. You have K SP Jain, choose according to your domain. Consider Indore after that. You don't need to plan on giving another shot at ABC. On the second try, 80% do not get into better colleges. Indore is most likely the best campus in terms of peer interaction and crowd size. IPM students will captivate you with their knowledge.

The IIM label is phenomenal and well worth it. Many people don't even know much about FMS. IIM Indore is ideal if you want to become an entrepreneur. Their Incubation Centre has produced some excellent work. If you're worried about getting the biggest paycheck, don't be; most students don't stay in their first job for more than a year.

Do 12th board marks matter a lot in IPM IIM Indore admissions?

You must, however, also be taking the entrance exam for other programs. The following are the causes:

The 5-year IIM Indore program is not the best or the most worthwhile route to graduation for anyone. Nobody, however, can contest the opportunities for employment and other benefits.
It is very expensive.
You may regret not taking additional science or social science courses during your undergraduate or graduate studies. You should always keep in mind that you can take business studies at any point in your academic career.

You should always have a plan B or C in place because, despite your best efforts, there will be a possibility that you might not be able to clear the test.

How do I get admission in IIM Indore?

The first step to get into IIM Indore for your PGP is to clear the CAT exam. As there’s already plenty of information online on how to clear the exam, I’ll be moving forward to the next steps.

Once you get a call from IIM Indore, the next step is GD and PI. The GD round is all about speaking. But do not make the mistake of speaking useless things. Instead, make just 2-3 points that are logical and that take the discussion forward. Else, come up with something creative to support your opinion. For example, my friend got the topic- “Advertising: Noise Attracts Attention”. As soon as the floor was open for discussion, he made a loud thud with his foot. This attracted everyone’s attention towards him. In response, he just said- “Hence proved, noise attracts attention.” He cleared the round because of his out of the box response.

The personal interview is mainly a test of your confidence. Read general knowledge material and prepare at least one subject of your interest in depth. You’ll be asked questions on them. If you do not know a certain answer, be honest about it. You can add humor to the conversions, but do not use inappropriate jokes. You must across as a sensible gentleman.

These are a few tips to ace the GD PI round, which will ultimately lead you towards becoming a student at IIM Indore.

How can I get into IIM Indore right after 12th?

Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) is a program aimed at students who have passed out of class XII/Higher Secondary or equivalent from schools across India.

IPM is a 5-year program launched in 2011 by IIM Indore. The program has been accredited by the Association of MBAs, London.

The program's agenda is targeting the youth that has managerial and leadership skills and transforming them into world-class leaders through top-notch education. It has been specially designed for young individuals who want to pursue Management right after 12.

Selection Process

The selection process of getting admitted into IIM Indore for IPM comprises 3 steps

You will have to fill out an application form that entails your academic and extracurricular achievements.
After this you have to write an entrance exam that aims at analyzing your aptitude, logical reasoning, and proficiency in English and Mathematics.
Lastly, after shortlisting you go through a personal interview with well–qualified professors from IIM Indore and other prestigious institutions. The panel will judge your confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills, and knowledge.

Only 120 seats are available for this program at IIM Indore. The entire program is broadly divided into the first 3 years and the last 2 years.

The Programme consists of 15 terms spread over a period of 5 years, with each year having 3 terms of 3 months. The subjects of the initial 3 years focus on the foundation and the last 2 years have core subjects that focus on Management.

How does IIM Indore calculate a composite score?

IIM Indore conducts a national level Aptitude Test called IPMAT. The exam duration is 2 hours with 100 total questions.

Quantitative Ability: 60 questions (75 minutes)

Verbal Ability: 40 questions (45 minutes)

Composite score is calculated as follows

QA= 65 * ( candidate’s score - Min Score)/ Max score - min score

VA = 35 * ( candidate’s score - Min Score)/ Max score - min score

Final score = QA score + VA score

If you are shortlisted, you will be called in for the WAT and PI round. The weightage for the complete composite score is as follows

Aptitude test = 50% weightage
Personal Interview (PI) = 35%
Written ability test (WAT) = 15%

Your composite score is informed only if you are not shortlisted. Otherwise, you won’t get to know your score.

No, there is no provision for lateral admission in IIM Indore IPM. The institute you are currently studying in, the course that you are pursuing, and your scores, even if they are high; does not make any difference.

This is because IIM A, B, C, L, and I, all have their own methodology of teaching. All the other remaining IIMs are also on their way to become unique in their approach.

Apart from the Ph.D. program, the transfer of students is not encouraged. They do not want to put their teaching methodology and students’ career at risk.

However, if you want to get into the program, you can retake the entrance examination. You might then get a call for further rounds of GD and PI if you clear the pre-requisite requirements for age.

How many waitlisted candidates clear on an average in IPM IIM Indore in General and OBC Categories?

With Poor Academics, it is difficult to get admission to IIM Indore but not impossible. You need to secure very high score in CAT examination followed by group discussion and personal interview for securing a seat.

The Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test competition is high; more than fifteen thousand students attend the entrance exam yearly. IIM Indore admission is based on competitive exams like CAT/ GMAT/ IPMAT followed by a Personal Interview. At IIM Indore, for batch 2024-26, a total of 169765 general category candidates selected IIM Indore PGP & PGP-HRM as their CAT preference, of which 5109 PGP and 2841 PGP-HRM were shortlisted for PI WAT round.
