The EPGP students have enough work experience and are placed in their respective domains and the process is recruiter based mostly. They have incremental placements from their previous experiences. The PGP and IPM batches are placed together, there is an equal representation of freshers and work experience guys in the batch. There are summer placements after the PGP year 1 and Final placements after the course completion. Consulting, Finance, Sales and Matketing, Analytics and Product Management are the main areas of employment. Niche firms like BCG, Kearney, JPMC, Goldman Sachs, HUL, Amazon etc hire from the campus directly.The process is completely transparent. The average placements ranged from 25-30 LPA in the last three years for the PGP IPM batches. Highest may go upto 1 Cr CTC, lowest has gone down upto 11 LPA. All the students get placed by hook or by crook in the end. It's a 2 week long process.

The placements are available only after the fifth year of IPM, that is after obtaining the MBA degree. it is a dual degree program which means that after completing three years, you have an exit option which allows you to leave the course with just a B. A. in Foundations in Management. Summer Internship Placements saw participation from a total of 140 firms and 606 students.
The Highest Stipend saw an increase of 50% and the Average Stipend increased by 37%.
The Highest Stipend stood at INR 6 Lakhs and the Average Stipend stood at 2.74 Lakhs.
Students were offered maximum internships in the Consulting Sector- 25%. Adani Group, Amway, and Apollo Tyres, among others participated in recruiting interns.

It is safe to say that not only is IIM Indore maintaining an excellent placement record, it has in fact seen a positive growth in the salary figures offered to the students.

How do people with a poor ACAD profile survive in IIM Indore during the summer placements? Do they get jobs?

In IIM Indore, having a poor academic profile does not necessarily mean that you cannot secure a job during summer placements. While academic performance is one aspect of a student's profile, there are other factors that are also taken into consideration by companies during the hiring process. These include work experience, live projects, certifications, and PORs (Positions of Responsibility).

To compensate for a poor academic profile, students can focus on building up these other aspects of their profile. For example, if a student has below 85% in their 10th, 12th, and B.Tech, they can still secure a job if they have significant work experience in a relevant field, as demonstrated by one of the examples provided. In this case, the student focused on live projects, PORs, and certifications, which helped them to secure shortlists from top companies such as Google and eventually convert a PPO (Pre-Placement Offer).

Another example is a student who has less than 65% in graduation but has excellent work experience in operations. This student will still be able to secure several opportunities during summer placements and ultimately even convert into a PPO.

However, students with few accomplishments may have more trouble finding summer and final positions. Students should excel in academics, work experience, projects, certificates, and PORs. This will boost their job and career prospects.

The final placement season of 2022 saw opportunities offered in a variety of industries. Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI), Consulting, Consumer Products & Retail (CPR), and Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) hired the most students. Automotive, Chemicals, Energy, Healthcare, Hospitality, Infrastructure, Logistics & Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Mobility, Pharmaceuticals, Steel, and Wine & Spirits were also heavily represented.

The total number of recruiters was 200+ recruiters with 30+ new recruiters. IIM Indore's highest package offered was INR 49 LPA whereas the average package offered was INR 25.01 LPA (6% increase in Average CTC), and the median package offered was INR 24.09 LPA (6.6% increase in Median CTC).

Colleges invite companies for placements on the basis of the preference list created by the students themselves. This means that the most preferred companies visit in the initial days while the least preferred companies visit towards the end. This eventually means that the last of the batch gets placed by mediocre companies.

Now here is a fact, sometimes the companies visiting at the end in order to get higher preference and attract maximum students, offer high packages that are at par with the preferred companies.

My uncle was a placement coordinator at IIFT a few years ago and gave me an insight into the placement scenario of such B Schools. Numerically speaking if the median salary of a particular B School is X, then the packages offered to the last 59 students would be around 0.6X-0.7X.

IIM Indore successfully placed all students from its PGP and IPM batch of 2024. Over 150 recruiters participated, offering a diverse range of opportunities for the graduating batch. The highest package offered stood at INR 100 LPA. The average package saw a decrease compared to the previous year, settling at INR 25.68 LPA.
