Excellent Placements

I likeed the fests of the college and the were pretty awesome.
In the college fests I could see many great personalities coming and talking on the stage.
I really like the Innovation hud of the IIT ISM which contains all technical clubs which is fully.funded

Dislikes

The food was not good and I was from Andhra pradesh couldn't eat this food
The classrooms are not too good .classrooms do not have top notch facilities.
Some hostels are very good but some hostels are very worst and bad.they need to be remodeled

Placement Experience:

I don't have a good idea about the placement process and all since I belong to the first year and the average package of my branch is 22 LPA and almost I think 90% of the people get placed. I'm thinking of doing an MBA or MTech.

A fresher's review about IIT dhanbad

Likes

The architecture of buildings, placements
You will get discounts on your identity card outside the campus
Interactive and friendly nature of few seniors and clubs will help very much in academics

Dislikes

Ragging in this college happens and it's better if you maintain a good contact with some seniors to be safe from some toxic ones
The mess food here is not so tasty and if it's veg mess it's mostly aloo everyday
Campus is easily accessible for trains and doesn't have flight connectivity

The campus placements here at IIT dhanbad are very good it has a very good average package and even students with cgpa of around 5 and 6 have got a package of 30-50 lpa. You can get all the data about college placement in IIT dhanbad website or on google

The IIT ISM story...

Likes

Variety of clubs and societies to explore your hobbies and interests.
Accessibility inside campus as it is not too big so kind of reachable to any place even by walking.
Lush green campus with parks and ground for physical and mental well being.

Dislikes

Connectivity of dhanbad to other cities by train is not good and airport doesn't exist.
Network connectivity can fluctuate from real bad to too good sometimes.
Hectic schedule and strict attendance policy.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Electrical engineering being a circuital branch has a wide range of possibilities ahead. It can also be considered as evergreen branch whose demand is atleast not going to end soon. Faculty here are PhD professionals but some might not like the teaching methodologies as it is quite different from the regular schooling/coaching methodologies. Term exams are strictly followed and on basis of regular intervals to check learning process. It is pretty easy to pass the exams if someone only pays attention in class or refer to notes by professors.

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements and from the 3rd semester, students become eligible for interns. Companies like JSW, TATA, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, ONGC, Samsung, Cairn, American Express and so on visit the campus and almost every company offers jobs to the students. The highest packages go up to 62Lpa and average packages of 17-28 lpa. 85-90 per cent is the placement rate of the college. Taking up the placement offer and doing the job is my plan after getting my degree.

Likes

Campus environment is good and refreshing
There are many cultural and technical clubs.
Sports facilities are good in this college

Dislikes

Campus area is not too large of this college
You are not allowed to leave the campus after 10 pm.

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester, students become eligible for placement. There are many companies including Google, Microsoft, Sprinklr, Walmart, and Tata Motors. Average package offered to my course is 12.8 lpa and the highest package was 49.5 lpa in the year 2022. About 90 to 93 percent of students get placement. The remaining students move towards the gate and upsc. I want to get placement from campus near 25-30 lpa.

My honest review

Likes

Clubs there are so much club in my campus
Campus size my campus is huge and it is full with greenery
Architecture my college was made in 1926 so most of the building are somewhat with a British touch that looks cool

Dislikes

75% attendance criteria is the thing which I hate the most
Mess food and food wastage happens alot in my college
There is an washing machine in my hostel . You have to give the clothes to laundary

Placement Experience:

Any year any semester any course students can apply for placement and internship opportunities. The first BTech year placement starts in the 7th sem. 5th sem for internship. Google, Microsoft, Oracle, de shaw, and sprinkler these companies visited last year. Height package was around 68 lakh. The average package of CSE is 22.31 lakh. The percentage depends upon a branch. Civil has low because they opt for government jobs rather doing bureaucrat jobs.

Likes

Infrastructure of college is very good and the campus Life of ism is really nice.
I like the greenery of the campus and the refreshing environment.
There are many hostels seprate for students year wise .

Dislikes

The area of campus in not so big and it is on highway.
The buildings in the campus are very old.
There is shortage of sports area in the campus.

The college provides good placement opportunities for the students and PPO offers for students who are doing already internships in a company. For placement, students are eligible after the 6th semester and companies visit the campus for students to provide jobs. About 90 to 95 percent of students got placed on campus. I also want a job on campus.

Short glipmse of IIT ISM Dhanbad

Likes

Hostel Life.. hostel Life here is very very amazing. You will definitely enjoy a lot.
Clubs for each and every hobby that I can thought has a seperate club in college

Dislikes

Infrastructure some of the buildings here had became very old and doesn't look good
Teaching staff, professors don't put that much efforts to tech students.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year onwards students are eligible for internships Ani placement There are many companies visited like Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, Amazon, sprinkler etc The highest package offered was 65 LPA and the average package was 14LPA The percentage of students getting placed is 76-80% Growth in the tech sector is my main goal

Clubs where everyone works as a team and they offer a good experience.
Fests are a common postive things when speaking of an IIT.

Dislikes

Mess food is not as good as expected mainly for South Indians.
Not everyone is involved in every activity and there is no one to motivate them.

From 2nd year onwards we are capable of sitting for campus placements. There are many companies that visit our campus in core as well as non-core. Some of them are Google, cairn ollil and Gas, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Jaguar, and many more.

IIT Dhanbad ranks 15th among the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is a much older establishment than IIT Bhubaneswar. The fee structure for BTech in ECE at IIT Dhanbad is 2,30,120 for one year. It Requires a JEE ranking of 3000-10000 for ECE. The ECE department of IIT Dhanbad has seen 60% placement of students with an average annual salary package of 15 lakhs per annum and highest being 39 lakhs per annum. IIT Dhanbad has a total of 332 faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced members. Out of total, 315 members are Ph.D. holders.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the newer IITs. The students with JEE ranking between 2000-7000 are eligible for Electrical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT Bhubaneswar in 2019 has seen 89% placement in the Civil Engineering Department with an average annual salary package of 11 lakhs per annum, 39 lakhs per annum being the highest. IIT Bhubaneswar has a total of 145 faculty members who are highly qualified and Ph.D. holders. IIT Bhubaneswar has 2 hostels for boys and girls each. Thus, IIT Dhanbad will be a better option to study ECE than Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar because, Being one of the oldest established IITs, IIT Dhanbad is known for its quality of education and their campus life. It also has better and more experienced faculty members.
