Likes

Campus opportunities like wide variety of sports facilities.
very good infrastructure with big big hostels
Very well educated professors who also helps students who are interested in research.

Dislikes

nothing to dislike in the college so far

Placement Experience:

From 7 th semester, a student is eligible for placements. Most of high tech companies visit the campus along with core companies too and they provide a decent package ann a good number of students get placed each year with approx 70%.

I liked central library very much , i also like various fests organised at college, Sports facilities.

Dislikes

I disliked the 75 percent attendence rule which is very bad according to me and whole college.

Placement Experience:

Our college placements are very good though aren't that much good in current year because of recession . The average package is 14 lakh per annum . We have to sit for internship opportunities after our second year in month of july and for placements in december after seventh sem . I want to take a good placement and want to start my own start up after 2 , 3 years of placement.

THE CAMPUS LIFE IS GOOD AND YOU WILL ENJOY WITH ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS A LOT.

I DISLIKE THE PROFESSOR , THEY ARE THE WORST ENEMY OF YOUR LIFE

Placement Experience:

PRE-FINAL YEARS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR INTERN AND FINAL YEAR FOR PLACEMENTS. MICROSOFT GOLDMAN ORACLE TEXAS ETC AND MANY OTHER COMPANIES VISIT THE COLLEGE. THE HIGHEST PACKAGE IS AROUND 60 LAKHS AND THE AVERAGE IS AROUND 14 LPA. PLACEMENT PERCENT IS HIGH. MY PLAN AFTER GETTING A DEGREE IS TO GETTING PLACED IN A GOOD COMPANY OF CORE.

Likes

Facilities: the facilities like security, hostel,mess are quite nice.they have LAN facility for students.
Feedback system - they take feedback for all the courses including modular
Lan facility - students are provided with lan facility

Dislikes

Unsystematic and unorganised schedule especially during exam time
Excessive pressure on academic, especially for first year
Huge syllabus it's curriculum is too as compared to other iits also

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is very organised. Keeping in mind that it is a IIT ,it has quite tough curriculum..but regular study can fetch good marks.teachers put their efforts.but one the biggest blunder it the unorganised schedule at the time of exam

IIT ISM DHANBAD Campus

Likes

I liked the fests here.There are crazy events in fest.
Library is one of the most like places here.
Aquamarine hostel is like five star hotel.

Dislikes

Classrooms are good with well equipped facilities.
Gaala dinner is one of mind blowing dinner parties.
Grounds are very spacious so that everyone can enjoy campus life.

Placement Experience:

From third year students are eligible for placements.They get internships in third year and get placement offer in final year.Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe and so many companies visit IIT ISM.Placement percentage is 75%.

Yeah alot of placement are occuring now. Our seniors got placement in Goldman Sachs and google and flipkart and Amazon what not neary three hundred companies are offering jobs here. After my gradation I will be doing as a software engineer I hope I will get atleat 20 lakhs of package

My experience in IIT DHANBAD

Likes

I mostly like the nature of the college which was very good
And the atmosphere at the cantin it was filled with all the students every time
I like the labs they were neat and clean

Dislikes

I dislike the hostel they were not upto my expectations. To be clear they were dirty
I didn't like the faculty as they were mostly speaking in Hindi which was not my native language
I don't like the auditorium because it was a small hall

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about the placements as I am a 1st year student,but I heard about the placements of my 4th year seniors which were placed in Google , Flipkart, Amazon ,tatasteel. The avg package of my college IIT dhanbad 20 LPA

The freedom in the college and the things I learnt here .
Greeny environment and pure air inside the college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Based on the placements we can choose. It will prepares us very well for practical world. Like in the reading materials. Based on the number of students the exam timings will be different and it would be mainly from 8am to 11 am.

MY IIT LIFE

Likes

The campus is larger compared other private engineering colleges.
The climatic condition in our surrounding.
The immediate response from the higher authority.

Dislikes

There is some ragging within the campus from seniors.
The clubs we join we have to have some experience in that club.
The hostels rooms are similarly small than other IIT.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As the campus is famous for the mining engineering the placement offers are relatively higher for this course than remaining. The professor and the seniors are readly helpful for our carrier guidance and the academic wise also. The course would improve by developing the field knowledge and the teachers would use digital boards for easy understanding to the students. The frequency and timings of the exams are sufficient to improve the knowledge. And it is difficult for an ordinary student to cope up.

Likes

This college is ragging free and antiragging committee monitors every where
great library facility.It can sustain over 3000 students in ane building
It is inside the city which help us easily accessible to outside

Dislikes

The hostel food and facilities are a bit poor
No ac anywhere other than library and nvcti
the culture here is that we must call our seniors sir/madam and wish them wherever we see which is a bit uncomfortable in the beginning but as you grow close to your seniors,it is very cool.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students graduating from here go with a satisfactory ctc.But I think core branches have more opportunities in placement compare to other colleges.students will be eligible for placements from 6th semester.More than 80% of the students are annually placed.As of the 2024 placement session,the highest package is 56 lpa and the average package is 16.8 lpa.

Which one is better, IIT Dhanbad for ECE or IIT Bhubaneswar for electrical?

IIT Dhanbad ranks 15th among the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is a much older establishment than IIT Bhubaneswar. The fee structure for BTech in ECE at IIT Dhanbad is 2,30,120 for one year. It Requires a JEE ranking of 3000-10000 for ECE. The ECE department of IIT Dhanbad has seen 60% placement of students with an average annual salary package of 15 lakhs per annum and highest being 39 lakhs per annum. IIT Dhanbad has a total of 332 faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced members. Out of total, 315 members are Ph.D. holders.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the newer IITs. The students with JEE ranking between 2000-7000 are eligible for Electrical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT Bhubaneswar in 2019 has seen 89% placement in the Civil Engineering Department with an average annual salary package of 11 lakhs per annum, 39 lakhs per annum being the highest. Thus, IIT Dhanbad will be a better option to study ECE than Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar because, Being one of the oldest established IITs, IIT Dhanbad is known for its quality of education and their campus life. It also has better and more experienced faculty members.
