NIT Hamirpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

My choice was NIT Hamirpur due to its placement record our college has a very good placement program and the college also invites very good companies for the college placement rounds. The college placement committee works as the motivating force during the college placement drive which helps us to attain good salary offers. The highest salary offer was around 40 LPA and the average salary offer was around 12 LPA. Bloomberg, Amazon, Paytm, Samsung, Mathworks, Texas, etc were among the companies that took part in the college placement drive.

From the 7th semester, the student is eligible for the campus placement. The highest package in civil engineering from NIT Hamirpur is 1500000 approx. A student has to maintain a CGPA of 7 or above to get a chance in placements.

In 7 th sem you can apply for placement, Maruti, bosch ,wipro , oracle and many more companies come to the campus, the avg package is about 9 lakhs/anum , more then 90 percent student get placed, after getting degree i am going for higher studies.

I got the Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering there because of my rank in the JEE Mains entrance exam which was 25,000. Although the cut-off was high in Round 1 of the JoSSA counseling, I waited for further rounds of counseling and finally got the seat in the Third Round of the counseling.

I chose this course because I love machines and automobiles. 120 class strength, the faculty are well trained and almost every faculty did their Ph.D. from top colleges. Two exams per semester, Mid-sem and Endsem, and the level of paper are moderately difficult.

The course curriculum is based on guidelines prescribed by AICTE and provides exposure to a wide array of subjects. The faculty is well qualified. The research environment of the institute is not however up to the required potential of an NIT.

the students are eligble for campus placements in final year although they can sit for internship oppurtinites. there are various no of companies and oppurtinites in campus . the average campus placements ranges from 10-15 lakhspa

College have training and placement cell which handles the internship and placement related matter n the campus. Placements starts duing starting months of 7th semester of Bachelors. Placement in IT companies are relatively easier than in core companies. Companies like Paytm, Samsung, Wipro, Wellsfargo, Gap, Oracle come almost every year for placements. Highest package around 16lpa on-campus and but average placement is less than 10lpa as percentage of students getting placed in IT companies are more than in core companies that too on a less package, This is why students from core go for exams like GATE.

There are tremendous fluctuations in placements from department to department. CSE branch has much more placements than any other branch. The highest package is about 1.5 crore from CSE overall 85%students got placed every year.

Placements starts from 5th semester.Microsoft, Paytm google etc, visited the campus.highest package is 1.2 crore from computer science and average package vary from 5-6 lac. nearly 80% students got placed.
